You think Minnie Mouse's dress is worthy of national political outrage. That's hilarious.No one ever said any of that.
The problem is it's somehow not ok for women to dress or act like women in pop culture. That somehow a lady mouse in a dress isn't a good role model or something. So instead of creating a new character, they took a classic old one and changed it. Not everything needs to updated or changed to suit modern social agendas.
Superman can't even be Superman anymore. Now he needs to be a younger gay man. Little orphan Annie has to be a black girl. Mini mouse can't dress like a woman despite millions of women liking to wear dresses. And so on.
It's shameless pandering and you're hand waving is the reason it exists.
