Heavy grade crude from tar sands in Alberta is harder and more expensive to refine than sweet crude in Louisiana.
It's cheaper to turn heavy grade into Diesel and save the sweet crude in LA and TX for gasoline production.
Converting to natural gas is a cost saving measure that could help, but has been greatly ignored by the Biden Adm.
