I don't see how the Dems can remain competitive, although having the MSM, Hollywood, and academia in the tank for you certainly helps. To me, it ain't the people who vote for Trump and the GOP who are the deplorables, it's the ones who vote for the Dems and their disastrous policies and contemptible practices.

Many of the moderates are leaving their party, including minorities who BTW are doing better under Trump than they ever did under any Dems president. So how are they going win back the WH? Far Left ideas just aren't popular, not many are going to vote for the GND, open borders, free abortions up to and including birth, gun confiscation, bigger gov't and higher taxes?

So, what do you see as the future of the Democratic Party?

I hope I don't live long enough to see the left in full control ever again.

I think this is a good question. It really is a problem --- socialism and communism (even "anarcho-communism" if that guy who wanted to put us all in gulags for re-education wasn't just a Russian plant) now do dominate what used to be called the Democrats. The people called "Democrats" want to overturn a legal election in a coup and get rid of the person who won, simply because their candidate didn't win. Democrats shriek and howl at people in restaurants and on the streets and professors and other students in classes. Elected Democrat officials urge their supporters to do violence on the streets to anyone who isn't a Democrat. Young Democrats in colleges try to suppress all freedom of speech and constantly act out violently against people on their campuses. Democrats riot and break and burn things. Democrats support pretty much all types of criminal and illegal activities, such as open defecation in public, sleeping on the street, illegal immigration.

The Democrats went bad so fast. Just from 2016 on, I'd say. I don't see how they can go on this way, or go back to centralism. I would love another party --- Republicans and Libertarians would be great, but what about the leftover leftists?

I myself predict the country breaking up --- this large land mass has kept one political identity so incredibly long: this NEVER happens. Countries are constantly reforming, normally. It's like we're stuck in time. I know that's radical, but I don't see how the good people can ever trust these wild, violent leftists again. I could be wrong.

Well if it comes down to it, I think there are enough people with enough balls who would take up arms to prevent that from ever happening. That's the very reason the 2nd amendment was made a part of our supreme law.

Or we can suspend civil liberties under "Republican" dictatorship. Both sides demands control, power, riches at the cost of everyone else. As we have already seen, the Democrats are quite willing to subvert our democratic institutions for political advantage. I can easily see the next Democratic administration removing all voting restrictions (including citizenship) and placing any recalcitrant states under federal jurisdiction. The result would be a one-party dictatorship under the guise of "free elections." In that event, abidance by our military would be irrelevant.
