I see no signs in the last 30 years before Trump of anyone giving a damn (of preventing more activity to China rather than vice versa). Europe is now planning this, which will decimate the Wests economy.

As some loyal and intelligent policy makers try to defend the greenback there are others who promote hyper inflation for their own benefit. Not real growth of wages or consumer buying power as a return to a strong Middle Class would provide, but just Big Government cronyism which they will get their hands on.

The shift of Europe now to a trade agreement with China is going to significantly put downward pressure on America remaining the global standard. This is really Chinas goal. They want to make America insignificant, staring with your currency, and they will most likely succeed with help from others (including so-called allies). Biden wanted Europe to reconsider their trade deal, Europe didn't seem to care. I suspect they were only delaying this deal due to pressure from Trumps admin. That's gone now, of no consequence to them as Trump is leaving office. Elections have consequences.

You see, above all of this wealth attainment for citizens, is the concept of patriotism and standing up for principles of your nation. Civil liberties, capitalism, fair and honest brokering in business etc. You are losing it as Canada lost ours decades ago. This will not get it done. This can lead to hyperinflation and a serious devaluation of the dollar.

Look how flat it was from 1976 to 2010. Then anyone who is not blind can see a massive increase in M1 money supply.

This is not sustainable.

If the money gets in the hands of people that will save it then it doesn’t necessarily inflate the dollar. Government spending doesn’t cause inflation per se. It is kind of like the chicken and the egg debate. Yes. Government spending can lead to inflation but the inflation doesn’t happen until the recipients decide what to do with it. The government can go on a spending spree and get away with it. It is a gamble I suppose. It’s a crazy complicated concept. You’d have to study this stuff for years to have a grasp on it and even then you have no idea if you are being taught nonsense or not. Look up Keynesian Economics or quantitive easing. It’s interesting. That is for sure.
