Can A Republican Tell Me When Trickle Down Economics Worked?

Easy....
Thats how the economy works.
Someone invests and risks their money to start a business and hires those who dont have the money to do the same thus giving those people jobs.
It ain't rocket science.

As the saying goes...Have you ever been hired by a poor person?
and this is what they give you for an hours work.

They get richer and they keep you in poverty.
What skill set does the hour’s work consist of?

Trickle down economics does a spectacular job increasing deficits.

Credit where it is due...

Another leftist with zero grasp of economics.

How shocking.

Here's a hint - no legitimate economist has ever uttered "trickle down." There is no such theory. It's just something Socialists say to smear conservatives.

Good, prove my statement incorrect.

I‘ll wait...

If not for logical fallacy, leftists would never be in the same galaxy as logic.

Explain to the class what "trickle down economics" is and who has advocated it.

You (dishonestly) claim {
Trickle down economics does a spectacular job increasing deficits.
}

Show where this fictitious system has been used and how it spurred deficits?

{ The regressive nature of the American tax system today, particularly as it affects wealthy elites, }

:lmao:

SO the author is not only dishonest, but abjectly ignorant.

{ A regressive tax is a tax applied uniformly, taking a larger percentage of income from low-income earners than from high-income earners. It is in opposition to a progressive tax, which takes a larger percentage from high-income earners. }

Okay, so the dude is a fucking liar pushing his socialist agenda in direct contradiction to facts.

That defines most of what the left vomits out.

{ the theory that undergirds this phenomenon, dubbed “trickle-down economics” by its myriad critics, is a macroeconomic fallacy. }

Wait, so those who use the term are actually engaged in ad hominem attacks?

Well, DAYUM.

{ The results of this so-called Reaganomics platform were mixed, as these laissez-faire policies overcame the existing recession but caused the national debt to skyrocket from under $1 trillion in 1981 to roughly $2.9 trillion by 1989. }

Unless of course it was actually defense spending that increased..

But I'm not here to debate some leftist rag. If Matthew Lichtblau wants to join the forum, I'll be happy to take him to the woodshed as the disingenuous fool he is.

So you ran to google, but in no way supported your claims.

Want to try again?

Thanks for the link.

The regressive nature of the American tax system today, particularly as it affects wealthy elites, has led poorer households to often pay cumulatively lower rates than their better-off counterparts, due to the positional ability of the rich to take full financial advantage of corporate, estate, and related tax breaks.

Didn't think so.

You're a lightweight fraud who can't support the leftist talking points he posts.

Your kind is a dime a dozen around here.

And you wouldn’t agree with ANY fact if it clashed with your ideology.

Glad we understand each other.

Puerile partisan name calling just proves you have no counter.

I accept your concession. :)

There's only ONE person 'keeping you in poverty.' And it's NOT your employer...
As I said before its not about me. I haven't worked a minimum wage job in 30 years.
People need a liveable wage. Period.

It's not an employer's responsibility to pay their employee a living wage. They are ONLY responsible for paying their employee the amount of value that they bring to their job.

If you only earn $7.25/hour you're a fucking loser. You should be grateful that we let you survive. You are of no benefit to society. You're a charity case.
We pay people $14.00 to clean office space. No experience needed. That is going market rate.

Reagan started it. He set record deficits.

G.W. Bush tried it. He set new records for deficits.

Trump tried it again. He set new records for deficits.

Jobs have never been created due to tax cuts for the rich.

Kennedy, period. What everyone seems to ignore, including Laffer himself, is that it is called the Laffer curve. It is a damn curve. At high marginal tax rates a tax cut can result in increased revenue, a la Kennedy. But at lower tax rates it only results in less revenue.
The federal programs that started after WWII plus increasing black employment due to the end of overt racism created more revenue. Tax cuts have not created wealth during the modern era.

Tax cuts and deficits aren't mutually inclusive or mutually exclusive. Deficits usually result from rises in spending.

Reagan made the right move in making tax cuts. Where he failed was reining in government spending, but he was also working with a Democratic Congress for most of his time in office.

Ultimately, that's the problem with both parties. You can cut taxes all you like and gain economic growth from it, but if you continually raise spending, the deficits will often outpace the growth in tax revenue.

So, tax cuts shouldn't be your enemy. Increased spending should be. Both parties should focus on spending cuts more than tax cuts.
