Lend me your memories concerning the Vietnam War. I remember Jane Fonda saying or at least it was attributed to her that anyone who was in the military at the time was a war criminal in Vietnam as much as the pilot who dropped the bombs. Do you guys remember that?

All these years I've been proud of my status as a war criminal, but here lately I have not been able to find that statement on the Internet. Even if Jane Fonda didn't say it allowing others to say it and for her not to contradict it means she accepted them speaking for her.

Give it a rest
Sorry I can't do that; when I remember something so clearly there has to be something there. I have a good imagination but not that good.

It was a wrong war that needlessly killed almost 60,000 and divided the country.

We should have learned
I'm willing to let a thread have a life of its own and go wherever it goes, but I didn't intend this to be about the Vietnam War but about the propaganda used during the war.

Jane Fonda definitely spoke out against American soldiers (and American POWs) in viet nam.

I don't remember her exact words...but they outraged me at the time...and they still do.

You are correct. What was WORSE was Hanoi Jane Fonda going on TV branding 19 and 20 year old VietNam Vets as "Baby Killers" and "War Criminals". And 60 years later she is still the same rabid Leftist bitch she was in her 20s.

The war is over...and has been for a long time.

She, somewhere around the turn of the century, repudiated what she said and apologized.

This should not be a thing now.

That's true, but the lessons should never be forgotten. The same tactics used by the left during the Vietnam War to give the communist a victory could still be used today. The Ukrainians have lost as many soldiers as we have in our active combat positions. That means the Russians could wipe out our entire ground combat capability and unlike the Ukrainians and the Russians we have no civilian backup. What happens then? That is why it's so important that we win in Ukraine or at least the Russians don't win.

Those leftist hippies were right about the war and were patriots

Those who spread lies and misinformation to extend the war were the Traitors

Let's say you could find Fonda's statement somewhere, what would it amount to for you?
