It seems to me that the elite have already instructed the DNC to prepare Newsom for 2028 or no money. Expect the DNC propaganda machine to start going full tilt in the next year or so. What this really means is that the bench for the democrats is incredibly shallow, and it's either Newsom, Harris or (gasp!) Joe Biden for 2028. Whoever can raise the most money in donations from the elite donors gets installed as the nomination.

IMHO, Joe is done and so is Harris although she might make some noise to get herself a lesser job. But there could be several others that could run besides Newsom, like AOC, Schiff, and a few governors or Senators here and there.

Gov. Gavin Newsom will call Wednesday for California to scale back health care for undocumented immigrants to help balance the state budget, retrenching on his desire to deliver “universal health care for all.”

The move comes days after the Trump administration targeted a different state-funded program for immigrants in California and signaled that it would continue to scrutinize benefits for undocumented individuals.

In a budget presentation on Wednesday, Mr. Newsom will propose freezing enrollment of undocumented adults in the state’s version of Medicaid, known as Medi-Cal, as soon as January. He also will seek to charge those who remain in the program $100 a month beginning in 2027. The governor estimates that the changes combined would save the state $5.4 billion by fiscal year 2028-29.

They replaced him in 2024, why would they let him be the guy in 2028? It's hard to see that happening, my impression is that dems know they gotta get younger. But if he runs would the rank and file vote for him in the primaries? I guess we'll see.

They replaced Biden when his lack of mental acuity couldn’t be hidden any more. Hell, days before they kicked him off the ticket, all the dem leaders were saying he was sharp as a tack and in better mental health than ever before.

Do the democrats ever do the right thing? Or do they do whatever that gets them the most money? Of course I am not serious about Joe running in 2028, but if he were their best shot at raising donations in 2028 they would certainly run him again, even if he were long deceased, and do their best with the propaganda machine and spin to paint him as completely rejuvenated, vigorous, and lazer sharp, all while never letting him near a video camera or a microphone. They essentially did that while he was running in 2020 and throughout his presidency, and they would try to do it again. The left bought it all hook line and sinker, and they would gladly do it again. Anyway, I'm just poking fun at the democrats who can't help sabotaging themselves.
