CA governor bans voter ID

Yeah...it's almost as if the OP is not true.

Oh wait...it's not true.

That explains it.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed legislation that prevents local governments from requiring voters to present identification at the polls, a law aimed at curbing conservative efforts in cities like Huntington Beach.

The new law is a response to Huntington Beach's controversial voter ID requirement, which was passed by the city's residents in March. In April, California Attorney General Rob Bonta and Secretary of State Shirley Weber sued Huntington Beach to invalidate the law, arguing the local measure violated state voting protections.

"The right to freely cast your vote is the foundation of our democracy, and Huntington Beach's voter ID policy flies in the face of this principle," Bonta said in a statement when the lawsuit was filed.

California is one of 14 states that do not require voter ID for elections, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

From your link:

"Authored by state Senator Dave Min, the legislation was passed by the California Assembly and Senate earlier this year. Min, a Democrat running for Congress, introduced the bill so local governments cannot impose their own voter ID rules, which he said disproportionately affect low-income, elderly and minority voters."

Local government can't impose their own voter ID rules anywhere in the nation.

Cheaters gonna cheat.

Nutty Newsom just banned voter ID in California.

That means anyone can waltz into a polling place, claim to be someone they're not, and vote.

It's not "no ID required", it's no ID ALLOWED.
The Magnitude 10 earthquake cant happen soon enough.

Do Democrats honestly not know what is going on here or do they just not care? I just can't believe that they are so naïve that they don't know. It benefits them in the elections, but is extremely dangerous to the future of our country. I just wish they weren't so willing to sell out their country just to win at the polls.

do live there to know this?....just asking....

Used to. Jerry Sanders lost an election to Donna Frye for Mayor of San Diego, and the courts just simply put him back in. That was one. The the statewide ballot initiatives supported by Dems started winning 10+ points higher than the polls.

Yes thank you for confirming they want to cheat, based on the fact that they do not think their constituents are smart enough to get id's, this way anyone can vote

Just amazing. Why don’t they do the same for welfare? I want welfare with no ID.

Dems are not even trying to hide the fact they are stuffing ballot boxes with ILLEGAL VOTES.

Instead of NO ID to vote, why not FREE IDs for everyone?

It is because Dems want to CHEAT IN ELECTIONS.

Well, it’s not like it’s going to make a difference in California…I seriously doubt they’ll go red…but still i agree,
It’s a probelm

Some how I know there is more to this story,
So VERY SICK of political party's going to any extremes.
In the name of party over country.

States are the ones who manage elections, not cities or counties. That is the way it is run in all 50 states. Cities don’t get to decide who votes and who doesn’t.

Voter ID laws NEED to be legislated country wide to put an end to this BULLSHIT.

This was a law passed by the legislature.

[DISCLAIMER: I support Voter ID laws. So the above isn't about my opinion of whether Voter IDs should be required or not.]

This country NEEDS NATION WIDE VOTING STANDARDS requiring VOTER ID AND SIGNATURE VERIFICATION.
I don't care if it takes a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.
Other states need to be protected from this BULLSHIT!!!!!!!
