"Bush Wrecked The Economy And Obama Can't Fix It"

You're lying. Taxes were not lower under Reagan than they are today.

Come back when you have some facts. I am tired of debating rightwingers who are factually challenged.

Revenues went down under Bush after 9/11

Taxes WERE lower under Reagan. Please refer to the pretty graph with the pretty colors!

See, you throw accusations. I, on the other hand, provide useful links!

I know that many of my friends on the left get upset when the facts don't support their fallacious claims, but I would have thought that they'd be used to it by now. Oh well, some things never change...

Here's another useful link since you still seem to be confused!

Revenues went down in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2008. That's 4 times on Bush's watch.

On the other hand, Clinton RAISED taxes in 1993, revenues went UP in 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, and 2000.
I guess that means that RAISING taxes increases revenues better than cutting them (which, btw, anyone who has any common sense should be able to figure out on their own).

Oh, and don't forget, revenues FELL in 1983, AFTER Reagan's big ass tax cuts of 1981.

Your charts are meaningless.

You need to look at something in the realm of reality:

Effective tax rates:

Historical Effective Federal Tax Rates for All Households

You will see, that no, taxes were not lower under Reagan than now (the chart goes to 2007, but we've even had more cuts since then).

Thanks for proving my point! Reagan brought the highest tax bracket DOWN to 28%!

When he took office, the highest rate was a cumbersome 70%. George HW Bush LOST to slick Willie because he broke his famous "Read my lips, NO NEW TAXES!" pledge!

I know that this is difficult for many of my friends on the left to grasp, BUT 35 is a bigger number than 28!

George HW Bush took office in January of 1989. Reagan brought the tax rate from an oppressive 70% when he took office in 1981 all the way down to 28% in 1988.

Thanks a gain for providing a link that proves my point!

Presidents don't decide where the economy goes.

Presidents have the ability to push their agendas for the betterment of the economy.

JFK, Reagan and Bush figured it out and it worked out okay for them.

Why not for Barry??

There's nothing left to do. Taxes are as low as any sane person would have them, interest rates are virtually at zero, consumer debt is still at near record levels, the deficit can't take any more borrowing as stimulus, the Chinese have our jobs,

what do you propose a president do at this point?

Repeal Obamacare.
Stop attacking businesses.
Stop the EPA from regulating CO2 as a pollutant.
Cut Federal headcount by 20%.
Cut regulations by 20%.
Cut corporate taxes to 20%.

Yeah, we have the 1st foreign attack on US soil in over 195 years & tax receipts went down - go figure. But they started climbing again in his 2nd term.

What is really interesting is the dramatic drop during Obama's 1st year, despite all the stimulus spending!

Bush & the congressional Repubs did a crappy job when they had an opportunity to do some good. Obama is exacerbating our problems...

A look at the tax rates does show that Bush lowers taxes in 03, and BOOM, like magic, tax receipts go up in 04, 05, 06 & 07!

Wonder what would happen if we started spending less than we take in on a regular basis.

Thanks for proving my point! Reagan brought the highest tax bracket DOWN to 28%!

Funny. After how many years of his two terms at 50%?

It was a compromise to step down tax rates over time. Reagan wanted them lower immediately, but compromised in order to get his policy passed.

That's much closer to the truth than what we currently hear from the right, including many self-proclaimed Tea-party people/supporters.

They've kinda admitted it with their "Obama made it worse" meme, but that's still not the truth.

Bush and his cronies wrecked the economy so bad it will take a lot more than just Obama and/or 4 years to properly repair it.

This is why I can't and won't take tea-party people seriously. Not the ones who constantly put out the message that Obama made all things bad all of a sudden, which just happens to be just about all of them.

The right will always spin and twist and attempt to wiggle their way out of responsibility, just like they did when they absolutely abandoned Bush after staunchly supporting him for 7 years straight.

This isn't the party that Reagan would recognize, although it is the party that Reagan created.

Tell me something.

If Obama can't fix the mess why should we give him 4 more years in a job he is unqualified for?

Taxes are as low as any sane person would have them

Shall we go thru the lists and amounts that the average middle class or above wage earner pays out in taxes in one way, shape, or form??

Taxes are as high as can be... and should indeed be much lower, but equalized across the citizenry instead of having high %s of citizens not paying one sort of tax or another, including federal income tax

Yes, by all means do. Show us that they are higher than during Reagan.

OMG! Libs are ignorant of recent history. :clap2:

Your homemade charts are not only false, they are hilarious. LIAR!!

One last point about the tax rates before I address your ridiculous graphs. What is being overlooked is the "confidence & inspiration" factors.

Higher income earners were getting massive breaks and KNEW that even better days were ahead!

It still amazes me that so many left wingers are cool with the Kennedy's creating massive wealth through nefarious, immoral & illegal endeavors; yet want to create oppressive tax laws that prevent the little man from getting ahead...

Your chart? Shows Obama's BEST years in the form of predictions for the future.

Nice job...

Quick, what was Bush's average deficit and what was Obama's average deficit?
:lol::lol:

I love your 3rd chart. Look at how big those first 2 positive jobs numbers were for Obama.
What happened in the 3rd month? Why the sudden dip?
If you figure it out, please let me know.
I'll just be sitting here laughing at you until you do.:lol::lol:

So, tax cuts cause increased revenues except when they don't?

That's funny.

You can't show us that taxes are higher now than during Reagan's presidency, because they aren't.

Stop listening to the radio.
