"Bush Wrecked The Economy And Obama Can't Fix It"

Then he should go. Time to let someone else get a crack at it. Obama should be a One-Term President. He has no answers.

If true, isn't this an admission that Little Lord Obamaboy really ain't all that talented?

If Obama can't do the job he should get out of the ******* way so someone can. Bush hurt the economy yes but Obama took it to a whole new level of bad. The Bush recession would have corrected itself in the first year of Obama's presidency if he just backed off, but now almost 3 years later Obama has caused another recession.

The best thing Obama could have done was walk into office and end TARP and the wars... Then sat on his hands and veto everything. He would be in a booming economy by now and the deficit would be a lot smaller. Oh and we wouldn't have been downgraded, thanks for that Obama.

The Stimulus is what kept us from a Depression (but only if you believe actual economists). TARP was, while unpopular, effective. The auto bailout saved the auto industry and countless jobs.

The auto bailout was for one reason only, to keep union members paying dues so that the union leadership can donate millions into democrat/union friendly campaigns. Nothing more, nothing less. That's the only jobs in this country the Dems are willing to help right now, union jobs.
Everything he has tried to do has been blocked or watered down. He has faced more obstruction than any president in history. Never before has the opposing party's stated goal been to ensure the President's failure.
Of course he is facing obstruction, when his policies are destroying the country patriotic politicians will obstruct everytime. I commend them for it. Maybe if he delivered on his campaign promises the GOP would not have gotten such huge gains in the 2010 midterms and he would still be able to pass what he wanted, but no....he lied and the people have spoken, game over berry...game over.

Bush had 8 years to destroy a pretty sound economy. Give this President more than 2 1/2 years to turn this monstrosity around.

It's campaign time now, Obama could care less about the economy, to him, it's all about getting reelected.

Funny - Buchanan fucked up America and Lincoln didn't whine about Buchanan.

Ever.

Obama needs to grow a set, vs. flying off to Martha's Vineyard.

Funny, this time his presidency, Bush had taken 235 vacation days, Clinton 139. If Obama had taken the entire 10 days, it would have totaled 70. But it's different with Obama. He's black.

Oh thank GOD! We're saved and he's at least not micromanaging! So refreshing to see a president not make the same mistake as Carter.

Rick Perry would just sit around praying for God to straighten everything out.

Faith in god is alot better than faith in socialism. At least god will listen, with socialism you're getting what you got coming, regardless of whether it's what you want or not.

so you think the economy was better when bush left office than it is now?

I think you better check the numbers

there is no such thing as the race card.

If you think there is than the best place to check to see if its real is to stick your whole hand up your ass because that is where it originally came from. Some bigot originally pulled it right out of his silly ass.

Absolutely it was. The mortgage banking crisis took us down and it was Bush and John McCain who warned Barney Frank, the banking queen, and Chris Dodd 17, that's SEVENTEEN times, it's on video and in statements about Freddie and Fanny and the need to reign them in. They ignored the warning.

BTW unemployment was 7.7% when Obama took over, he promised it would not go over 8% if we passed the 787 billion dollar stimulus plan, it went to 10% after the bill was passed it is at 9.2% now and it is rising. Do the math, math doesn't lie and then figure it out. Hell yeah we were better off than we are now.

You need to check your numbers. BTW the same people who were responsible for the banking mortgage crisis are the same ones who wrote the Dodd/Frank bill that has stopped lending in this country. I spoke to a mortgage banker the other day, if you have an excellent credit rating he could get a loan approved for you in a couple of hours. If you have a credit rating that needs to be cleaned up a little it could take him 2 months of work to get it done. The Dodd/ Frank bill only allows mortgage bankers to charge the same rate, the same fee for the the excellent credit rating person that it does for the person who takes a couple of months.

The mortgage bankers are telling people no as they are not going to make the same money that they do for the 2 hour approval verses the 2 month approval. They won't do it and I don't blame them. It's a lose- lose situation.

Jobs Numbers: Will Unemployment Sink Obama

But: Both of those 1936 and 1940 numbers were lower than when Roosevelt took office. So at least he could campaign saying he brought the number down. And this is the crucial thing. Barring some really extraordinary and unforeseeable chain of events, Obama will not be able to say that. The jobless rate was 7.8 percent when he was sworn in.

So let’s say it’s 9 percent in November 2012. That’s 15.4 percent higher than the day he took office. Let that sink in. That’s an awfully tough number to sidestep. The GOP ticket and a thousand surrogates will be on television constantly driving that number home, and why shouldn’t they? That’s about as heavy as campaign artillery gets. It’s a special gift to the GOP candidate both because it happens to be true and because given the American public’s general economic illiteracy, with enough repetition, millions of Americans will walk away from their televisions thinking that the unemployment rate is 15 percent!

Actually the real number is more like 17% as some people have been unemployed so long they are no longer counted. Hell yeah, we were better off under Bush.`

You're right. Some bigoted leftist came up with it to excuse blacks. And every time you use the tired old "opposition to Obama is due to his race" crap because you can't defend his policies, you play the race card.

Presidents don't decide where the economy goes.

Presidents have the ability to push their agendas for the betterment of the economy.

JFK, Reagan and Bush figured it out and it worked out okay for them.

Why not for Barry??

There's nothing left to do. Taxes are as low as any sane person would have them, interest rates are virtually at zero, consumer debt is still at near record levels, the deficit can't take any more borrowing as stimulus, the Chinese have our jobs,

what do you propose a president do at this point?

Here ya go! Here are some very pretty graphs with color & everything!

Take a close look at the 1st graph - Reagan got taxes down dramatically (lower than they are today)

THEN take a look at the second graph. Please note how revenues skyrocket after the tax cuts!

BUT WAIT!! There's more fun! Look at the early 1990's on the 1st graph when Clinton raises taxes. Revenues PLUMMET on the 2nd graph.

Amazingly, revenues GO UP AGAIN after W Bush lowers taxes.

Please also feel free to look at revenues in the 60's when Kennedy lowered taxes - isn't this a fun exorcise??

It's also interesting to note the profound affect that the attacks of 9/11/01 had on revenue collections.

Barry might want to consider lowering the top bracket to where Reagan had it, just to see if collected revenues increase (just like they have EVERY TIME the top marginal tax rate has been reduced in the last 50 years)

My bet is that Barry won't do it though...

You're lying. Revenues went down FOUR times during Bush's presidency. That ties a record for any president in modern history.

You're lying. Taxes were not lower under Reagan than they are today.

Come back when you have some facts. I am tired of debating rightwingers who are factually challenged.
