"Bush Wrecked The Economy And Obama Can't Fix It"

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to NoNukes again.

Believe me

I will

Rather childish to care about rep points in a discussion.

I have to agree with that, frankly I think the rep system is a bad idea anyway. Just because a member disagrees frequently with other members doesnÂ’t necessarily mean their opinions arenÂ’t perfectly valid, or that their disagreeing to troll. Likewise, yes-people who kiss up a lot will gain a significant reputation even though they really contribute little of value to forum discussions.
Normally I donÂ’t even bother with forum that use such systems because the hole notion is a bit childish, but I thought I would give this one a try since itÂ’s the most popular, politically moderate forum listed on google.

Welcome.

Presidents don't decide where the economy goes.

Presidents have the ability to push their agendas for the betterment of the economy.

JFK, Reagan and Bush figured it out and it worked out okay for them.

Why not for Barry??

Taxes are as low as any sane person would have them

Shall we go thru the lists and amounts that the average middle class or above wage earner pays out in taxes in one way, shape, or form??

Taxes are as high as can be... and should indeed be much lower, but equalized across the citizenry instead of having high %s of citizens not paying one sort of tax or another, including federal income tax

Reagan cut taxes and kept spending, running up unprecedented peacetime deficits.

That's the same thing Obama's done. Do you want MORE of that?
This is peacetime? How many wars does he have going on now?

Yes, by all means do. Show us that they are higher than during Reagan.

"Bush Wrecked The Economy And Obama Can't Fix It"

Actually, the truth would go more like this:

The economy is going to ebb and flow per its own natural order, little effected by the acts of presidents and other politicians, at least with regard to short-term results.

The roots of the December 2007 recession may go back decades, the consequence of economic policies from both sides of the political spectrum.

GWB didn’t cause the December 2007 recession – it would be ridiculous to say so; equally ridiculous is the idea that Obama is somehow responsible for the current economic situation, or to expect him to ‘fix’ it in just two years – or four, for that matter.

Needless to say the above truth will go ignored, the state of the economy being too powerful a political weapon.
Bu$h II did add @ $5-7 trillion to the debt w/ 2 UNPAID- FOR wars, Tax cuts during those wars, and an UNPAID- FOR trillion $ Repub RX plan. I say $5-7 trillion because the total cost of the two wars he started won't be known for years to come much less their eventual outcome
A "minor recession"? Holy revisionist history, Batman!!

Job loss in the recession of 2000 was much worse. The difference is job creation in this recession was way below 2000, or below any other recession for that matter.
If Bush had stopped with backstopping the banks, the recession would have been over in 9 months.

LOLOLOLOL :cuckoo: $10 trillion of value up in smoke and it's a "minor recession"? :eusa_hand: :eusa_liar: You must be a Perry supporter :cuckoo: :eusa_pray:

A couple weeks ago we proved the retard Rabbi wrong about the 2001 recession losing more jobs than this last one. As you see, he is ineducable.

Look Folks? Carbonated is trying to convince you ALL that more taxation is needed...after all? Someone has to pay his bills for him and his time here on these boards. The guy is a moocher. Tune into these boards any workday...and you will find him. The guy is on the DOLE and expects you all to pay for his subsistence.

How many states had seceeded from the Union when Abe Lincoln took office, asswipe. He "inherted" a far bigger mess than Obama could ever imagine. You didn't see Abe blaming Buchanan for the mess he had to clean up.

When does the buck begin stopping with Obama?

Get your nose off his ass for a moment and smell reality.

The truth lives forever, Bud.

What truth? None of you leftists dare face the truth.

We face the truth every day while you make an imaginary world for yourselves, and then you believe it.

I learned a long time ago to not take him seriously, he drinks too much of the koolaid and is an apologist for Obama. To him, just like Obama, the blame lies elsewhere, regardless if it does or not, the most important thing to people like him is never taking responsibility for your own actions, let someone else take the responsibility for you. He, also like Obama, is an agitator, the proof of that is his threads on this board. He offers nothing of substance at all, and cannot back up half of what he says with facts. Obama was elected president because people like the OP actually believe the bullshit that he "Obama" and the left wing media are telling them. In short, they are a waste of time and energy. Here is a video of people just like the OP.

That's much closer to the truth than what we currently hear from the right, including many self-proclaimed Tea-party people/supporters.

They've kinda admitted it with their "Obama made it worse" meme, but that's still not the truth.

Bush and his cronies wrecked the economy so bad it will take a lot more than just Obama and/or 4 years to properly repair it.

This is why I can't and won't take tea-party people seriously. Not the ones who constantly put out the message that Obama made all things bad all of a sudden, which just happens to be just about all of them.

The right will always spin and twist and attempt to wiggle their way out of responsibility, just like they did when they absolutely abandoned Bush after staunchly supporting him for 7 years straight.

This isn't the party that Reagan would recognize, although it is the party that Reagan created.

It's all Bush's fault!

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
I know right? I seen on the news last night where Obama blamed hurricane irene for a slow recovery. I about fell out my chair laughing.

I blame Obama for making it worse since he was elected, nothing he did improved on it, only made it worse. I am not a Bush apologist, but we where fighting two wars and that costs money, and he passed that first 400 Billion tarp bill which he shouldn't have passed. But Obama doubled down on Bush policies, he also has us fighting two wars and entered us into a third in Libya, then added 4.5 trillion to the debt in 2-1/2 years, something it took Bush 8 years to do.
So yes, while Bush can be blamed for some of it, Obama did twice as much damage in 1/4 of the time and is still talking about another huge stimulus bill, something we dont need.

Obama: The scapegoat king...

There are problems that no president can fix, such as this one:

saupload_household_debt_slide.JPG

They could stop bailing out fannie mae and freddie mac, let them fail, and allow the free market to dictate housing prices, like it should.

Obama can't fix it?
The smartest guy in the world?
The guy who was gonna stop the rise of the oceans?
I want the $787 billion stimulus back.
Why didn't he know it wouldn't work?

Sure he can fix it. But fixing stuff generally takes longer then destroying stuff. Bush destroyed an economy over his 8 years that was over 230 years in the making. Sheesh..President Obama is supposed to fix that in 3 years?

If it was as bad at the beginning of Obamas term as some of you make it out to be why did he not try to fix it to begin with? Instead he has spent the last 2-1/2 years doing the same shit Bush was doing in his 8 years, and doubling down on it. Makes no sense at all unless he is trying to ruin the economy to rebuild it in the Keynesian socialist blueprint. He did however attend columbia university and enjoyed the whole clower and piven course and keynesian studies. So of course to him, this is the right way to go at it, even though it is factually and historically proven to fail.
