‘Burden Is on the FBI to Justify’ Mar-a-Lago Raid, Prove It Wasn’t ‘Politically Motivated Witch Hunt’

He is a president with top secret clearance, so raiding his house for top secret documents was a terrible political blunder. Worked out great for us though, so thanks for the help.

First off, Top Secret clearance lasts as long as you have a need to know. Ex Presidents no longer have a need to know

Secondly, the major issue was that those Top Secret documents were improperly stored and compromised

This dance-step over "Trump de-classified this stuff....so no problem".......could be a novel legal argument. And will, no doubt, be made by Trump's lawyers if this thing goes to an indictment or an arrest.

We all can see the pushback though. To wit:

• Prove he declassified it.
• Who did he tell?
• When?
• Was it memorialized in documents or transcripts?
• Did this alleged 'de-classificaiton' follow known protocols or the law?

But for us non-legalizers, the questions remains:
Why did he have it?
Why did he keep it despite being respectfully requested for it?
Why did he keep it despite being subpoenaed for it?
Why was there the fibbing by Trump and/or his enablers that they had no more, that they had given it all up?
Was that an honest mistake.....or obstruction?

If this thing goes to indictment......well, strap it on, America. The circus is back in town.

Well, I wouldn't disagree that it, indeed, it appears to have energized his base.
But then, that was a pretty energized base already. Was this act merely a gilding of the lily?

Did the FBI search 'add' more fans to Trump's base?

enough Trump officials say thats bogus, that it most certainly is, since such a policy would never fly. Also, such a policy certainly would have leaked.

And the Trump Lawyer lied. That is one of the three charges on the warrant, the obstruction of justice charge....they said they gave back everything top secret, they didn't.

Informants gave the DOJ the heads up, that there was more...or where to find more top secret documents there....

How many times has Donald Trump investigated these people and found NOTHING? Trump spent 4 years investigating his "enemies" and not a single one of them was charged with ANYTHING. This leads me to believe that they never did ANY of the things that Trump claimed they did and that he was lying the whole time.

He had that prosecutor from Salt Lake City - Huber review all of the Clinton files and charge her with something, anything. Two years later, the prosecutor wrapped up the file with no charges. Mike Pompeo spent more than 2 years investigating everything Clinton did at the State Department and came up empty.

There was the whole Barr, Dunham investigation of the investigators which yield one charge which was promptly thrown out by the Jury, in less time than it took to elect a foreman and order lunch.

First off, once he read the information, it was already known. He cant unknow it just because he isnt the president anymore.

Secondly, Mara Lago is a fortress guarded by high tech security systems and Secret Service Agents with fully automatic weapons. It couldnt be more secure.

If Trump has memorized the information, he doesn’t need to store the document. He has no use for it

Dude, they scoured every inch of that home to look for holes in its security. They spent millions of dollars to upgrade EVERYTHING! They put in privacy walls which remove any chance of getting sniped from a thousand yards away, they guard every entrance, put in reinforced doors with high tech locks and they make sure the security system is top notch and running smoothly.

The Secret Service has no training, experience, or expertise in keeping classified documents secure.

The Secret Service is not qualified to keep classified documents secure.
