He was nudged at approximately the same time he shot at her. Shooting her didn’t save his life. His life was never in danger.

She hit the gas (you see the wheels spinning on the ice) and begins to accelerate forward towards the officer only a few feet in front of her vehicle. ONLY at that point does that officer pull his gun and fire the fatal shot through the windshield killing the terrorist. After being shot the vehicle turns right and runs off the road. The officer was absolutely justified in shooting this miserable scum.

There is another angle the press is not showing where an agent was hit by the vehicle. The shot entered the front windshield. The agent holding the door handle did fire their weapon.
