Breaking: Woman shot while trying to kill ICE agents in Minnesota

Was Babbitt driving an SUV at those members of Congress? No, she was unarmed.
The cop didn't know that. There were people everywhere rioting and breaking shit. This lady was in the middle of snow covered street minding her own business when along come the big, tough ICE losers. Completely different scenario. Only an idiot wouldn't see it that way. Are you an idiot?

The legal ramifications of a federal law enforcement officer being charged with a crime (murder, manslaughter, etc.) is going to be interesting, I don't know if this has to be a federal charge, or if the Minneapolis DA can charge him.

If this has to be a federal charge, forget it, it won't be coming. That sets a dangerous precedent for this to be repeated with no fear of liability.

In hindsight, I think it’s clear that she wasn’t trying to hit the police officer straight on. The tires turned much further than where the officer was, indicating that she was trying to go around the vehicle and flee. I would argue that if the police officer thought she was coming at him, then he guessed wrong.

I think my bigger issue is this: hypothetically speaking, if she was coming straight at him, I don’t think that’s anything close to a lethal vehicle attack from that distance. Cars can’t accelerate that quickly in that short of a distance. He got nudged by the car. He’s fine. In my opinion, that doesn’t warrant a lethal use of force. For even touching the officer with the car, she should be going to jail for a long time, but I don’t think she should be killed on the spot. My opinion.

It’s easy to play armchair police officer, but I think the officer knows his life isn’t in danger from that distance.

Iron clad proof she took extra steps to ensure the safety of officers before they executed her.

This was murder.

Looks clear to me, I can see why the officer feared for his life

Exactly.

Two HARD, CONCRETE FACTS =

Innocent people do as instructed.

Criminals run.....or attempt to flee.

Sobriety checkpoints are actually a very interesting constitutional question.

But it also has nothing to do with this situation since there was no checkpoint.
No, they actually aren’t

Tr courts and said they are legal…see Michigan v Satz

Blocking vehicles isn't protesting.
Driving a car into people is assault with a deadly weapon deserving of a response with deadly force.

This driver tried to murder someone.
