There is video of Chansley out front prior to the break in and video of him entering with those who broke in. From the video I saw, he came in peacefully right after the breaking in part.

The cops had orders to not arrest anyone, it could set others off and make things worse, so they followed him around, they did not escort him or lead him around as a guest!
