Or it could just be the Georgian people telling Russia that they don't want Georgia to be a Russian colony. But why wouldn't they want to be a Russian colony unless someone put evil ideas in their heads like individual rights or free speech, and you are worried that someone was the US? Actually, it seems the EU is encouraging the uprising right now, but I sure hope the US has played a role in it, too.
