Of course. We sold N Korea nuclear reactors from a company that Rumsfeld had once sat on the board of directors of, a mere two years before we placed them on an "axis of evil" list. It was a lovely bipartisan affair, the plan having been initiated under the Clinton admonistration and wrapped up/completed under the Bush administration. And US taxpayers were tapped by Bush to assist in the funding of the deal. So of course we now have to go in.

The sacrifice and collateral damage will be worth it.

That is just what the generals told Kennedy in the Cuban missile crisis, "it's time to get it done." Military planners were assessing US loses and concluded the US would win in a nuclear exchange with less than 40 million US civilian causalities. Cooler heads prevailed and 30 years later the Soviet Union was gone. 55 years later, Cuba welcomed relations with the US and China was our largest trading partner. In time governments change, dictators die, and the world changes. The trick is to have the patience and statesmanship to avoid war, something I feel the current administration is sadly lacking.
