There’s a very short runway, which was fine when the airport was built and prop planes were taking off, but it is not safe for jets.

Jets develop more thrust quicker than a prop plane.

It’s a rushed, high-speed takeoff that ascends at a sharp angle to quickly get some height.

The reason that is done is for noise abatement over populated areas. All airports have those restrictions due to crybabies buying houses next to an airport.

The RJ was descending on approach while the helo climbed into the RJ's flight path. I'd bet the helo thought they were clear.

The most common cause of aircraft crashes is pilot error.

Trump's order emphasizes the need to hire more Federal Aviation Administration employees. It also instructs the FAA to end all DEI hiring practices to accomplish that goal. We have reported in the past about the FAA's push to hire more air traffic controllers. In September, the FAA said it had reached hiring goals for the fiscal year by bringing on more than 1,800 new air traffic controlers.
