BREAKING NEWS: Biden pardons his son

Joe did not pardon Hunter for just the one felony he was being sentenced for. No, Joe pardoned his son for about 10 years of illegal activity Joe was certain his son would go to jail for if he did not give him a 10 year pardon.

Hunter Biden’s pardon looks a lot like Richard Nixon’s.

President Joe Biden’s grant of clemency on Sunday night — an extraordinary political act with extraordinary legal breadth — insulates his son from ever facing federal charges over any crimes he possibly could have committed over the past decade.

Experts on pardons said they could think of only one other person who has received a presidential pardon so sweeping in generations: Nixon, who was given a blanket pardon by Gerald Ford in 1974.

ā€œI have never seen language like this in a pardon document that purports to pardon offenses that have not apparently even been charged, with the exception of the Nixon pardon,ā€ said Margaret Love, who served from 1990 to 1997 as the U.S. pardon attorney, a Justice Department position devoted to assisting the president on clemency issues.

ā€œEven the broadest Trump pardons were specific as to what was being pardoned,ā€ Love added.

Joe Biden’s ā€œfull and unconditional pardonā€ of his son is deliberately vague. Donald Trump and his allies have long fixated on the president’s son, and Trump has repeatedly pledged to use his second term to investigate and prosecute

members of the Biden family. Conservative commentators have engaged in parlor-game speculation that Hunter Biden could be charged with bribery, illegal lobbying or other crimes stemming from his foreign business activities and drug addiction.

So rather than merely pardoning his son for the gun crimes for which he was convicted and the tax crimes for which he pleaded guilty, the president’s pardon covers all ā€œoffenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part inā€ from Jan. 1, 2014, through Dec. 1, 2024. That language mirrors the language in Ford’s pardon of Nixon, which did not merely cover the Watergate scandal but extended to ā€œall offenses against the United Statesā€ that Nixon ā€œhas committed or may have committedā€ between Jan. 20, 1969, and Aug. 9, 1974 — the exact span of Nixon’s presidency.

The starting date of Jan. 1, 2014, in the Biden pardon was surely not chosen randomly: Hunter Biden joined the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian gas company, in April 2014, while his father was vice president. Republicans have accused the younger Biden of illegally profiting off his position on that board.

Nothing admits guilt more than this pardon by Joe
.

God doesn't pardon so easily.

I know someone who saw some of the video from Hunter's laptop. My acquaintance still has nightmares.

No, God doesn't pardon stuff like that easily.

I think what Hunter has done might come under the title of Sins That Cry Out To Heaven For Vengeance.

None of those associated with Trump whom he pardoned in his first term were whoremongering drug addicts, involved in laundering millions of dollars from Russia, China, and Ukraine, nor were they convicted of felony gun crimes.

Except he was never charged with drug crimes.
you guys never proved any money he got were "laundered", in fact, they were for services rendered.
So all you really have is the gun charge in a country where we hand out guns like door prizes.

We have a god damn MOUNTAIN of evidence, hence the pardon and the specific time period Hunter was pardoned for. :cuckoo:

Yet in five years, all you could charge him with were minor crimes.

All the crimes that Joe just pardoned him for. You know, all the crimes that you claimed didnt exist, and oddly continue to deny those crimes exist, even though Joe just pardoned him for those crimes. :cuckoo:

Trump has shown that he has no intent of following the rule of law, given who he is appointing over at Justice.

If I were Biden, I'd give a blanket pardon to everyone involved in his administration and Obama's as well.

Chairman Comer’s Statement on President Biden’s Pardon of Hunter Biden

WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) issued the following statement on President Joe Biden pardoning his son, Hunter Biden:
ā€œJoe Biden has lied from start to finish about his family’s corrupt influence peddling activities. Not only has he falsely claimed that he never met with his son’s foreign business associates and that his son did nothing wrong, but he also lied when he said he would not pardon Hunter Biden. The charges Hunter faced were just the tip of the iceberg in the blatant corruption that President Biden and the Biden Crime Family have lied about to the American people. It’s unfortunate that, rather than come clean about their decades of wrongdoing, President Biden and his family continue to do everything they can to avoid accountability.ā€

Except he was never charged with drug crimes.
you guys never proved any money he got were "laundered", in fact, they were for services rendered.

Except, Hunter Biden needed to be sheltered from crimes both he and Joe Biden might be charged with as a part of likely investigations.

Thus, the " you got away with it" nature of the extended time frame for the little crook and the "Big Guy".

How about addressing the DNC/Biden hypocrisy?

What’s your spin attempt. It’s as blatant as can be. And the fact that he used these points to lecture the right.. now he’s a fraud the whole time?

I don't see a hypocrisy in that Biden is doing what every president has done since Ford Pardoned Nixon.

Anyone with a lick of sense could see that prosecuting Hunter for non-crimes because of who he was related to was a travesty.

They are if they’re prosecuted.

Merrick Garland, a hard Democrat, isn’t going to do anything to take down the president he supports.

ā€œProsecutorial biasā€ is a long held standard, especially on the left when they have the DOJ.

I was on another thread where the guy complained that Merrick Garland went too easy on Trump.

The thing was Trump had this same evidence from the Fake Laptop, and he didn't prosecute. Would be kind of hard, given his companies engaged in even more egregious behavior than Hunter's did.

I wonder if that pardon will stand up in court for any crimes that have not been charged yet. It brings up a question of the limits (if any) to the president's powers. It seems to me to be an overreach, but I don't know if there is any basis to deny that pardon. Could the Supreme Court overturn the Nixon pardon as unconstitutional and also the Biden one? Should any president have that much power? IMHO there should be limits on everything a president can do.

Also wondering if this pardon shields Hunter from civil lawsuits too. Maybe he can't be charged and prosecuted but can he be sued?

Nearly the entire leftist media complex, most top level Democrats, and many leftists on here.

I won’t stop you from playing stupid though. I’d run from this one too LOL
