BREAKING: Mass Shooting at Fort Stewart, GA

That has NEVER been implemented anywhere.

From your DOD 5210.56:
Requests to carry privately owned firearms for personal protection purposes not related to the performance of official duties within buildings on DoD property may not be granted unless the arming authority makes a determination, after consultation with servicing legal counsel and in accordance with applicable DoD policy, that the request falls within an exception under Section 930(d) of Title 18, U.S.C.

My children and I have lived on military bases forever. My daughter just left Fort Campbell and her boyfriend is still there. She also lived on post at Fort Hood and so did my other daughter. My son was stationed at Fort Lewis, Fort Benning, and Fort Meyer. I lived on base in Newport Rhode Island and worked on post at Fort Knox KY for many years.

Were you ever in the military? Have you read that instruction? You are wrong! That is an exception and never granted.
My Dad was stationed as an MP at Fort Benning in the early '80s, and he still keeps up with current and past DoD directives and the UCMJ. It is quite possible to underestimate the discretion of the base commander when approving concealed carry on base.

I know more than you think. It's quite unnecessary to belittle me. I will not respond in kind.

Clearly, Ft Hood didn't teach the US Military any lessons, if I am to believe what Tory is saying.

I didn't belittle you. I told you were wrong and you are! I quoted the directive or could you not see it?

All our bases have MPs, base security forces, and/or civilian police. That was the case at Fort Hood and the civilian police officer took down the shooter, or don't you remember?

I was on Fort Knox training special operations troops when our center director located me and briefed me on the shooting because they knew my daughter and grandkids were there. A staff member still had her phone number from her volunteering and being a friend and had already contacted her to make sure they were all OK.

I lived through that horrific incident on a more personal level than probably anyone here.

That was quite harrowing.

I'm glad they made it out okay.

At any rate, this is all we're going to hear on the news tonight. Lol.

Be glad nobody died.

In Arctic Circle Bases and bases / Facilities with Animal predators ( Polar Bear / Grizzly Bear / Gray Wolf / Puma / Cougar/ Gator Croc there are exceptions for Firearms not controlled by Armory .
