Some people would try to dismiss this attack as the ayatollahs just trying to save face, but that would be a terrible mistake. Saving face means defending the actions that brought us here and that runs counter to the US and Israeli goals of ending Iran's nuclear and missile programs, making any agreement impossible. There should be zero tolerance for any aggressive actions by the ayatollahs or any attempt to salvage Iran's nuclear program.

In other words, the ayatollahs have to lose face if any progress toward peace and stability in the region is to take place.
