RICHMOND, Va. -- The developers of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline have announced they are canceling the multi-state natural gas project due to delays and “increasing cost uncertainty.”

Despite a recent victory before the U.S. Supreme Court over a critical permit, Dominion Energy and Duke Energy said in a statement Sunday that “recent developments have created an unacceptable layer of uncertainty" for the $8 billion, 600-mile project designed to cross parts of West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina.

The project has drawn fierce opposition from a coalition of landowners, activists and environmental advocates.

IDK. When I used to get my utilities through Dominion, their rates were much cheaper than my parents were paying with municipal utilities that allegedly "lose money" providing electric and gas

I'm paying 2.25 per whatever for nat gas. I'm paying 5.10 for whatever for electric. Choice is great. I celebrate by opening all my windows and setting my air temp to 65. So much fun.

I pay $0.645 per therm so about twice your cubic foot rate for natural gas, and $0.133 per kWh for electric through our municipal utilities. Water is 2.6 cents per cubic foot and with every cubic foot you get whacked with a 2.38 cent wastewater fees so the real cost is 4.98 cent per cubic foot. Trash pickup is another $18 per month and you have to pay it if you have any utility services whether you use it or not. With the base charges and mandatory trash fee it runs just shy of $70.00 per month if you have utilities on and consume zero water gas or electric. My total monthly utilities run around $275 a month on average.

But most people are not worth what they get paid for speeches, no matter what field they are in... So to me, it may be an industry flaw... an ex vice president first lady is certainly an interesting guest verses say, the wife of a CEO.... or the wife of an actor etc... at least in a woman's head, imo.
