It was supposed to be a routine appearance, a visit from the commander in chief to rally the troops, boost morale and celebrate the Army's 250th-birthday week, which culminates with a Washington, D.C., parade slated for Saturday.

Instead, what unfolded Tuesday at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, bore little resemblance to the customary visit from a president and defense secretary. There, President Donald Trump unleashed a speech laced with partisan invective, goading jeers from a crowd of soldiers positioned behind his podium -- blurring the long-standing and sacrosanct line between the military and partisan politics.

As Trump viciously attacked his perceived political foes, he whipped up boos from the gathered troops directed at California leaders, including Gov. Gavin Newsom -- amid the president's controversial move to deploy the National Guard and Marines against protesters in Los Angeles -- as well as former President Joe Biden and the press. The soldiers roared with laughter and applauded Trump's diatribe in a shocking and rare public display of troops taking part in naked political partisanship.

Is there any traditional norm trump hasn't shattered? It has always been understood politicized speeches in front of uniformed military personnel is forbidden. So too putting soldiers on the streets of American cities unless requested or consented to by a states' governor.

Is it ego or a total lack of respect for the fidelity to convention his predecessors showed that allows Don to think no rules apply to him? That he can do anything he pleases regardless of the nation's heritage or our laws.

Trump loves our military, and dems hate them. They know.

Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’

Well, he definitely sees the opportunity to use the ones who are living as props.

Internal 82nd Airborne Division communications reviewed by Military.com reveal a tightly orchestrated effort to curate the optics of Trump's recent visit, including handpicking soldiers for the audience based on political leanings and physical appearance. The troops ultimately selected to be behind Trump and visible to the cameras were almost exclusively male.

One unit-level message bluntly said "no fat soldiers."

"If soldiers have political views that are in opposition to the current administration and they don't want to be in the audience then they need to speak with their leadership and get swapped out," another note to troops said.

Un - Ameican Troll Bots like bugger86 hate it when they are publicly villified as scum and vermin .

A decent America needs to be rid of unpatriotic traitors like you , Bugger
It's sad how your inability to deal with trump trampling over traditional boundaries leads you to spew gratuitous insults at those who throw his behavior in your face.

When President Donald Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, near Paris, in 2018, he blamed rain for the last-minute decision, saying that “the helicopter couldn’t fly” and that the Secret Service wouldn’t drive him there. Neither claim was true.

Trump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.

Do you also deny what he said about John McCain?

I don't believe you. Now go away

Fascists always love the military, but only when they are loyal to the leader and not the country.
The degree to which the Ft. Bragg event was staged is reminiscent of regimes that use optics to manipulate the intended audience. Mocking political opponents while speaking to enlisted military personnel is an abomination. One not garnering the attention it deserves because holy shit..........we are awash in abominations coming from the regime.

Yawn* BORING!

Trying to lie about Trump being responsible for that sort of thing, is just the buffoonery you’d fall for. You forget, and those of us who’ve served know, shit like that comes from base, and unit commanders…

You’re so sad.

The awful reality that Donald Trump’s repeated attacks on John McCain prove

When it comes to credibility I'm with John Kelly.

Oooh, digging deep with more bullshit, now that you’ve been exposed.

Deflection as well. You’re pathetic.

From AI.........Yes, fascist regimes and movements extensively use "optics" – visual symbols, imagery, and spectacles – as a key tool for propaganda and manipulation.

Always remember. It was the politicians over the last 60 years and somewhat longer who have slowly turned us into a dictatorship. They made sure that what you call Jan. 6 was to e ingrained as they know the people really rising up may destroy their globalist plans. The Prog side politicians say nothing of all the uprisings across the nation. They know this weakens us as to eventually be incorporated into a world government. They use our own flaws against us.
