Toilet Paper is better reading than the NYT these days. What a shame as it used to be a choice paper of sublime intelligence. Sue Don, sue! This Sunday's NYT has full page pic of Nazi salutes. Then there's this crap: ...
"A middle-aged priest. A 26-year-old woman. A registered sex offender.
Three seemingly very different people with one thing in common: All three were accused of sexually assaulting fellow passengers on airplanes.
Even before Jessica Leeds alleged last week that Donald Trump touched her inappropriately during a flight in 1979, many frequent fliers had concluded that increasingly cramped planes with fewer flight attendants walking the aisle seem to embolden-gropers..."...................................................................................................................................................................................................................and this crap in the "Science" section: Kaakutja, Perhaps the First Known Boomerang Victim.............

Newspaper is excellent for cleaning windows. Saves cost on paper towels.

I used to use it to line the bottom of my bird cage. Then it started pissing them off, so now I use the WSJ.

They openly bragged about the bias in their editorial censorship and lying back in the late 1990's, so this is old news.See William MCGowan's excellent investigative book Coloring the News for fine reportage and direct quotes from their editors on how proud they are of being a tabloid rag and having no principles.

New York Times review rips fancy restaurant Per Se
"Per Se" has long been an acclaimed and exclusive four star restaurant. The restaurant was last reviewed in 2011 by a different Times restaurant critic. But in the latest review out on Tuesday, Wells downgraded the eatery to two stars.

Wells' criticism was swift and harsh.

"The kitchen could improve the bacon-wrapped cylinder of quail simply by not placing it on top of a dismal green pulp of cooked romaine lettuce, crunchy and mushy at once," he wrote. "Draining off the gluey, oily liquid would have helped a mushroom potpie from turning into a swampy mess. I don't know what could have saved limp, dispiriting yam dumplings, but it definitely wasn't a lukewarm matsutake mushroom bouillon as murky and appealing as bong water."

ALL I HAVE TO SAY TO THE NYT IS: "DUH!!!":bs1:...But even as he appeared to inch toward the political center, Mr. Trump used a series of postings on Twitter to argue that The New York Times’s coverage of him has been “BAD” and “very poor and highly inaccurate.” He falsely stated that The Times had issued an apology to readers, an apparent reference to a letter to readers from The Times’s publisher, Arthur Sulzberger Jr., and its executive editor, Dean Baquet. The letter noted the unpredictable nature of the election and said The Times aimed to “rededicate” itself to “the fundamental mission of Times journalism.”

In the letter, The Times posed a series of what it called inevitable questions, including, “Did Donald Trump’s sheer unconventionality lead us and other news outlets to underestimate his support among American voters?”...SEE BELOW:

ELECTION 2016
To Our Readers, From the Publisher and Executive Editor
NOV. 13, 2016

When the biggest political story of the year reached a dramatic and unexpected climax late Tuesday night, our newsroom turned on a dime and did what it has done for nearly two years — cover the 2016 election with agility and creativity.

After such an erratic and unpredictable election there are inevitable questions: Did Donald Trump’s sheer unconventionality lead us and other news outlets to underestimate his support among American voters? What forces and strains in America drove this divisive election and outcome? Most important, how will a president who remains a largely enigmatic figure actually govern when he takes office?

As we reflect on the momentous result, and the months of reporting and polling that preceded it, we aim to rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of Times journalism. That is to report America and the world honestly, without fear or favor, striving always to understand and reflect all political perspectives and life experiences in the stories that we bring to you. It is also to hold power to account, impartially and unflinchingly. You can rely on The New York Times to bring the same fairness, the same level of scrutiny, the same independence to our coverage of the new president and his team.

We cannot deliver the independent, original journalism for which we are known without the loyalty of our readers. We want to take this opportunity, on behalf of all Times journalists, to thank you for that loyalty.

Sincerely,

Arthur Sulzberger Jr., publisher

Dean Baquet, executive editor

That's as close to an apology as you're going to get. I wouldn't say their banner on November 9 was exactly "covering the election with agility and creativity." It was unforgiveable license to spread their bias some more. But maybe they've decided to wise up?

We don't really have news any longer. And a majority of people are getting it on the Internet and social media. That's how Trump won, and the reason the media went on full court press bashing Trump 24/7. They wanted to "fix" the election as they usually do, but failed miserably.

At the end, when they realized that the billions of dollars in free publicity they had given him had created a monster who would hurt us all, they did try to "fix" their mistake, but it was too late.

True. But they also underestimated Trump. The hurt us all part is the left's opinion.

They're doing fine sans a boycott. Circulation and ad revenues have been dropping steadily for several years now. Just get out of the way and watch them self-destruct.

Reminds me of the scene from Saving Private Ryan. GIs who'd been pinned down on the beach finally get a flame thrower or something to light up a German pillbox that had been mowing them down. Panicked, screaming Germans with uniforms on fire come running out, totally exposing themselves to countless pisssed off US riflemen, one of whom yells out to his buddies, "Don't shoot! Let 'em burn!"

Bulldog, you also realize that you just admitted that the biased, corrupt media tried to influence the elections by promoting the republican candidate they thought Hillary could beat?
