Both parties will have mid-term conventions! Is that a good idea? Who will win the "Better Convention" Poll?

If conventions are held, which party will win the policy debate?

Here is the 54% approval, its not a lie.

Trump didn't give a new tax break for billionaires. He just extended the existing tax rates.

Everyone pays tariffs, but only if they buy imported products, not just the 99% whoever they are.

You really need to stop lying.

I have no idea who Your News is, but USA Today says Trump is underwater.

Here's what several new polls say about Trump's approval rating

Its not official yet, but if either party has a convention the other party is forced to.

I support conventions to broadcast the policy differences between the parties.

We can list the various policies that voters will be considering.

Republicans:
End Home Rule for DC
Election Reform: only US citizens on verified voter rolls can vote in any election, ID required, signature matching required, mail-in by excuse only, only votes received by the official poll closing times can be counted. Results must be posted within 12-hrs of polls closing
Balanced Budget required, w/o using SS funds, unless in time of declared war
To ensure that apportionment of Representatives be set by counting only US citizens
To make the (60 vote) filibuster in the Senate a part of the Constitution
To allow the President a "line-item veto"
Social Security and Medicare must be made whole, i.e. "fixed" and only those who contributed can get benefits
Set term limits in the House and Senate, 8-years for House members, and 12-years for the Senate.
Clarify the 14th Amendment that only US citizens can make a US citizen. (otherwise we get "anchor babies from Russia, China, and Mexico.)
The US Supreme court shall have not more than 9 justices.
Immigration reform, no longer admit for fleeing oppression, only merit-based immigration as approved.

Democrats:
Put up or shut up...winning policies

Next it'll be pre-midterm conventions and post-midterm conventions.

Democrats win of substance;

Republicans win on style.

Currently the nation cares more about style than substance.

I will say this:

Can we please for the love of God...have an amendment limiting the SCOTUS to 9 justices????

If you think there should be 11 or 111 or 7 or 5--whatever. Just codify it in the Constitution so we can stop this ridiculous debate? Just set the limit--codify it--and stop with the posturing.

Keep it at 9--my view.

Two pages, and I didn't see one leftie pushing any policy idea or ideological concepts to try to rebuild their party's image.

Saw a bunch of anti-Trump talk....

So, that bodes ill for this convention.

OMG. Don't make me list all of the 80/20 issues that the democrats are on the wrong side of....that is SUBSTANCE.

To accomplish all that, it would be easier to rewrite the entire Constitution or have a convention to propose all of the amendments that it would take to accomplish that.

It would be a virtual debate of policies. Not sure what grandstanding means???
The Democrats will agree on their policy of allowing amnesty for illegals, no cash bail, defund the police, impeach Trump again, taxpayer funded abortions on demand, gun control, government grocery stores, cradle-to-the-grave benefits for everyone, paid maternity leave, "free", "free" child care, "free" Medicare for all, and any other fringe liberal idea I haven't listed. There are probably hundreds more that only the beggar class would support.

The dems have no policies
"The dems have lots of policies, all of them are moronic.
open borders
cashless bail
lie about crime statistics
defund the police
rent control
legalize drugs
don't punish criminals, especially juveniles
raise taxes

Yep. Most of those policies are 80/20 with democrats having the 20.
Mamdani has a few more, like rent control, tax the rich out of existence, and there should be no billionaires.

If the GOP got a 60-vote senate and a House majority, what is your wish list for major legislation?

open borders: no one is for that
cashless bail: this needs overhauling (it has gone to both extremes and harms the average)
lie about crime statistics (MAGA does this all the time)
defund the police (an idea now dead)
rent control (both parties endorse this)
legalize drugs (too generic a statement, so it makes no sense)
don't punish criminals, especially juveniles (a lie)
raise taxes (like tariffs, etc. yes)

Not seeing a problem with it. Not going to watch them though.

Both parties are slimeballs. Be expecting the call wanting you to donate to their midterm conventions.
