I think hundreds of thousands of troops would be needed to effect regime change in a country the size of western Europe with a population of 90 million.

Imho, Israel convinced Trump the Iranians would rise against their government after the murder of their Supreme Leader; that appears to have been a mistake.

It is hard to imagine anyone who supports putting US boots on the ground in Iran, but MAGA Americans may well be that delusional.

I don't know how many of those Americans are willing to pay $10 for a gallon of gas?

They are so hopeless that 30 000 out of a required 90 000 reservists went AWOL

And in Gaza they were simply out classed by Hamas and only air support kept them from being devastated .

It's a small but perhaps also relevant fact that many Jewish pals have openly admitted to me --- we are not genetically disposed to physical activity of any extreme sort.

14 admitted in the "fog of war" when every government hides its actual loses.

One account I've heard today claimed over 90% of Israelis support their war on Iran.

Hypothetically, if Iran sank a US aircraft carrier with the loss of thousands of lives, who would 90% of Americans blame?

TACO already forgot about his "say" as to pursuing a regime change in Iran.

Military Option:
Iran is a total military underdog - just as Iraq etc. Aside from Bandar Abbas - the 60-80 km vicinity from Hormuz (incl. Qeshm island), is sparsely populated and either very rugged and or desert-like. So four IDF Brigades (or US Marines) are enough to handle that Hormuz issue with relentless US air-support and USN Tomahawks.

Political issue:
However IMO the "real" problem for TACO and Bibi is that the Gulf-states are no more willing to suffer and become content with the fact, that they are mere chess-figures of Israel & the USA. - which is disastrous for Israel's plans/agenda.

Financial & weapon shortage:
The other issue is "how much munition is TACO still willing, and able to contribute" towards Iran - after-all his primary objective is China. (that munition $$ part if decided upon by Congress - will pass) since both parties adhere to US Global domination.

So all in all - when is TACO going to declare that the "most decisive and outstanding military action ever undertaken in US history" has come to an end. One week, or still month to go, for a military option.
