Listening. Read his "Founding Brothers" a few times. I like Ellis.

Rereading Elmore Leonard's Pronto.

Not at all bad even on rereading, the sine qua non of a good book.

I just started The Autobiography of Henry the Vlll- with notes by his fool, Will Somers. I've read another by Margaret George about Mary- Queen of Scotland. It was great reading.

Herodotus Histories.

Back to the classics. I've been brushing up on my ancient Greek lately.

Everybody likes to pretend that they read important historical stuff while they probably spend their time playing video games. I like Lee Child "Reacher" stuff but I haven't seen much lately. Haven't seen much of Stephen Hunter "Bob Lee Swagger" recently either.

Operation Fortitude.

I'm reading two, professional growth books by the same authors: Chip and Dan Heath. Phenomenal resources on how to introduce change

Colorful characters, both.

I can get both real cheap -- free, on audio.

Picking up and reading Uncle Tom's Cabin next .. the book that is often referenced on the forum, and I have reservations about the story that is often communicated.

How?

I've only listened to one audio book about Marie Antoinette. I enjoyed it when I could find some quiet time around here. But it wasn't free.

I never play any video games and definitely read what I say I do. Not all my books are history, but I have more of them than some small libraries.

I also have every Stephen King and Dean Koontz book they've written. I adore Clive Cussler and Childs as well.

The Reacher author annoyed me with his bullshit about firearms, demonstrating he knew fuck all about them while pretending to be an authority. There are better page turners. Robert B Parker for one.

I can't imagine the bathos of that one. Report back on how it went, if you would.

I guess free isn't really free. It (Audible) comes with a subscription to something else -- dreaded Amazon.

I remember Parker from his early days. Interesting man.
