Bob Weir RIP

Alvin Lee. Fast guitar. Saw them as a kid in STL at Keil. I'm going home!

It turned into a riot of some sort at the end. Cops with Billy clubs raised running on the exit ramps outside the concert area. Of course doped up.
Yeah, I really like that band. Still have Cricklewood Green on a USB in the car.

Grateful Dead legend Bob Weir dies at age 78 surrounded by family after cancer battle

He was a trooper and toured until quit recently

I was never a Deadhead but liked quite a few of their songs

I think he was the singer on Touch of Grey, Ripple and Playing in the Band and my absolute favorite Sugar Magnolia

The Dead concerts were the best. I got to see them at least once a year for several years. The best ever concert was them at the Felt Forum. New Riders of the Purple Sage was the warm up. The Dead then played for at least 3 hours. Icing on the cake was that they broadcast the concert and I got a recording of the show.

1972 !

OK, this was classic. Into the first verse of the song... he forgets to sing the first half of the first verse and then you can see that look on his face as he recovers... then in the background.. you can see Jerry Garcia give a knowing smirk... it was kind of an awsome moment. The recovery was just perfect anyways.

The complete verse was

"Arrows of neon and flashing marquese out on main street...

CHicago, New York , Detroit and its all on the same street...

Your typical city involved in a typical day dream,... hang it up and see what Tomorrow brings"

so he just spaced the first line

I'm not sure I'd place these guys in heaven. They did a lifetime of drugs and shack ups. It's a bit like George Floyd murals, him sitting with the heavenly angels.
