It is a sad story that Subway has replaced Blimpies.

I'm eating a Blimpies Best sandwich right now, that I ordered for lunch, and I'm eating the second half now.

It is so delicious, compared to a Subway sandwich... The meat and veggies and bread are fresh! Even after half of it sitting in my fridge for 6 hours!

How the heck did Subway drive out Blimpies in almost every market, when Blimpies is so much better?

Around here they were always tied to some gas station/convenience store, very hit and miss. They could be great or very "meh", still better than Subway.

Sheetz has the best, most consistent "hero" type sandwiches in those types of places now.

As far as a stand alone place Jersey Mikes is pretty good.

I've only been to a Blimpie's once and it was in either 1993 or 1994 in the Atlanta area of Georgia. I don't know of one anywhere here in east TN.
