In the most critical hours, when the front of the armed forces of the Donetsk People's Republic was broken by Ukrainian troops in several places, Russia recognized the independence of the Republics that broke away from Ukraine and immediately began to introduce its troops there.
One hour before the curfew began, there were no big-caliber shells exploding in Donetsk, but a salute. There was a surprising silence at the front. Not a single automatic rifle round was fired.

During Putin's speech, Russian military and equipment entered the territory of the Republics.
The Russian military opened fire and destroyed a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which had attempted to break through the Russian border.
During the ensuing battle, Ukrainian troops sent two infantry fighting vehicles as reinforcements, which opened fire on the Russian military.
However, they were instantly destroyed by retaliatory strikes. As a result of the Russian military attack, five Ukrainian saboteurs were killed. At the same time, there are reports that in addition to the sabotage group, the crew of the armored fighting vehicles was also destroyed.
