This is all by design, for Black women I believe it's currently running close to 6.7%

If the general population hit this metric of 6.7 percent, the federal government would have by now intervened with measures to help alleviate the harm. But because this is a metric specifically for Black women, there is no safety net, let alone any acknowledgment of the crisis and/or concern.

As mentioned in the OP, unemployment has shot up to 7.5% for Black Americans. I remember when Trump bragged about having a low unemployment number for Black Americans. Looks like that isnt a priority anymore. The midterms will be decided based on the economy, not by the number of tweets from the toilet. Looks like Trump has some work to do to.

The African American unemployment rate has surged over the past four months, from 6 to 7.5 percent, while the rate for white people ticked down slightly to 3.7 percent. On top of a slowing economy, the White House’s actions have disproportionately harmed Black workers, economists said.

At least since the 1970s, when the federal government started tracking unemployment by race, the rate for Black people has run about twice the rate for white people. Because of inferior educational opportunities, the legacy of mass incarceration and discrimination over generations, Black people confront greater challenges in the job market.
