Larry Nichols, a former Arkansas Development Finance Authority marketing director under Governor Bill Clinton, became a prominent critic of the Clintons, alleging extensive corruption during Clinton's tenure. He claimed the Arkansas Development Finance Authority was used to funnel money into Clinton's campaigns and facilitate a drug trafficking operation that brought $100 million of cocaine monthly from Nicaragua to Mena, Arkansas. After being fired by Clinton in 1988—following revelations he made 642 long-distance calls at state expense related to the Contras in Nicaragua—Nichols filed a lawsuit against Clinton for wrongful dismissal.
Nichols co-created the 1994 documentary The Clinton Chronicles, which accused Clinton of various criminal activities, including drug smuggling and corruption. He later authored several books detailing his allegations, including NICHOLS VS. CLINTON: The Final Chapter, which compiled affidavits, autopsy records, and other documents to support his claims. In his 2017 book 28 Years to Nowhere: An Inspirational Tragedy, co-authored with Mary Ellen, Nichols described his 28-year campaign against the Clintons, asserting he played a key role in undermining Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential bid by exposing her and Bill’s alleged criminal enterprise. He claimed it was not Russian interference or FBI Director James Comey, but his own efforts that eroded public trust in the Clintons.
Nichols also alleged a pattern of suspicious deaths among Clinton associates and opponents, a phenomenon he referred to as "Arkancide," citing up to 150 such deaths. He further claimed that Bill Clinton used cocaine in the Arkansas Capitol and had a distinctive physical characteristic that helped Nichols verify the authenticity of sexual assault claims against him. In his later years, Nichols framed his mission as divinely inspired, urging Americans to support Donald Trump and reject mainstream media narratives, which he believed were complicit in covering up Clinton corruption. Larry Nichols passed away on September 27, 2022
