Bidenomics Devastation: 5,500 Store Closures in '23 – Up 30% - Is Your Favorite Next?

Is it Biden's fault retail sales keeps going up?

Is it Biden’s fault?

Are you suggesting people’s buying habits revolve around Biden?

There are many reasons why stores close. Here are some possibilities:

Increasing energy prices affect everything. Mining, manufacturing, transporting materials and products, operating the stores, and driving to stores to buy products all use energy. Suburban stores are hit particularly hard, with the huge buildings, huge parking lots, and taxes to pay for maintenance of suburban infrastructure. If they get tax breaks, then the customers pay for maintenance and have less money to spend.

We have vast numbers of people who take their cuts from projects and financial transactions without adding value to any product or service. These middlemen, tax collectors, inspectors, document stampers, etc., are both government and private enterprise. The cuts they take cripple many businesses, especially small businesses, so they never become profitable. Many of these positions are designed by corporations to cripple and eliminate smaller competitors.

More people are realizing they don't find happiness in buying. They stop at what they need and go elsewhere to do more satisfying activities.

A complete misrepresentation.

I made no comment about any shopping habits connected to Biden.

I wrote nothing about people’s online buying habits.

I made the point that retailers were leaving Dem / Socialist controlled Hell holes due primarily to crime.

Let's try this again.

I said: "People are buying online. Simple as."

You replied: "Oddly, retailers are making it clear that allowances for crimes such as shoplifting are driving them out of Dem / Socialist Hell holes."

Your reply implied that it because of shoplifting that people were buying online.

If that's not what you meant then I have no fucking clue why you wrote something that had NOTHING, ABSOLUTE FUCKING LOOOTLY NOTHING to do with what I wrote.

I think the second one is worse...

Or… we could just listen to what retail management is telling us in clear, unfiltered terms.

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said Democratic mayors and city councils have “abdicated their responsibility” in fighting crime and addressing mental illness, which has forced his company to shutter stores due to fears over employee safety.

Schultz made the comments in leaked video that was posted to Twitter over the weekend by Ari Hoffman of KVI-AM talk radio based in Seattle

I'm not saying there isn't a problem in SOME PLACES with this. Dealing with crime in the US is fucking mental. The police are a bunch of former army grunts with more balls than IQ who think their army training is police training. The politicians are messed up on BOTH SIDES.

However, the issue of stores closing isn't one of just stores closing because of crime.

"Bed Bath & Beyond: 896 stores"

Just because it's number one.

"The brand is set to live on in digital form"

So it can only survive as an online store.

Seems bad business decisions, nepotism.

"As of 2019, Bed Bath & Beyond operated approximately 1,530 stores in all 50 U.S. states, as well as in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Canada."

So, it was in republican states, democratic states, mixed states. Doesn't seem like it was due to democrats, does it?

Seems more likely sales were down because online is where it's at, seeing how it still exists as an online presence.

Do not forget that many of the stores closed were pharmacies, and these days most insurance companies require you to get any on-going prescriptions via mail order, thus reducing the need for in person pharmacies.
