AOC is far more ignorant than even I thought she was. Our debt now exceeds our GDP. This means no one will lend us any more money. They only way we can increase funding is to print it. Such printed money is worthless. It is not backed by anything since our debt NOW exceeds our GDP. Capital cannot be backed by debt. This is the same situation that Zimbabwe and Venezuela ended up with and why there are trillion dollar Zimbabwe notes that expire after 14 days.

It is also the situation when Germany could not pay war reparations to France. The German Mark collapsed and allowed the rise of Hitler who said he would fix the economy. He did. By announcing that he just wasn't going to pay France then he restructured the debt. That debt was finally retired in the 80s unpaid. It's a guarantee that China will just not accept a pronouncement that we are going to pay them. Debt will spiral us into a devastating war that we could not win because the debt load is too heavy.

I hope that we just aren't getting that stupid.

AOC may not have given enough consideration to all the potential pitfalls of going the whole distance with huge spending. There's always the possibility of America self-destructing under the debt that will be incurred if her advice is even close to what will be happening under Biden's scheme to save America.
