Not to speak of,we DO NOT have the resouces to being in millions more people. Water is drying up or toxic, farmland is either sold off to China or scarce in other ways like draught, fires, or polluted.

No I don't. We instituted 42 over Covid. If you are going to argue that the health situation is still so dire we need to maintain it, you can't really complain over additional actions taken by the government also.

Because our economy, at its core, is good in large part due to cheap labor....

Our nation has created paid wage slavery.
Basically a DINK (double income, no kids) is the ONLY majority of households that can get somewhat stable with assets and insurance policies to where they won't collapse completely WHEN disaster strikes. (It always happens but most don't recover)

But any model outside of that and the chance of a complete collapse is high. Meaning children, divorce, severe illness or etc and the family will become wage slaves.
Now those sort of low wages are not attractive and the current labor shortage is reflecting that. So most business models and commercial property leases are set up for low wages. Part of the inflation pressures are from the increasing wages required to obtain labor.

Immigrant labor is cheap labor.

The only way to utilize illegal labor is by contract labor. Meaning that you pay a business with a legal tax number to perform a particular task....be it brick laying or cookie baking. Let them get stuck with the crimes...and they will get charged but then the guilty will beat feet to a new location and another cottage contract labor company will step in "wink, wink, nod, nod" and it's all seemless labor.

However, with the tighter border controls in place the cheap immigrant labor is missing.
These are the people who butcher meat, lay bricks, make mattresses, and pick vegetables and etc. All low skill monotonous, labor intensive tasks.

Minimum wage? HA!
That's slave labor wages...it's for citizen's wage slaves living week to week on each paycheck.

Ummmmmmmmm, again, you need to go back to post number one. The media claims hospitals are at capacity with the tripledemic, which includes Covid. Covid cases are rising. Biden has continued the delay of student loan payments due to a health emergency and his administration is begging people to get vaccinated for Covid.

And besides that, you are missing the enormous costs that each illegal immigrant represents, both short term and long term. And the resources desperately needed by America's poor are being sucked up by this massive influx of people who are even more poor and more desperate. But for some reason, they get priority over American citizens. I can go on, but maybe this helps you see the broader picture.
