The rightwing histrionics over this are rediculous and dishonest. New Jersey and a few other states did away with cash bail some years ago and it works.

People are not kept locked up simply because they can't buy their way out. On the other hand, dangerous people who mjght have money stay behind bars until trial. Conservatives use ancedotal information about a few dngerous people who were let out and commited new crimes. Mistakes are made by judges. Most of those incidents happen while cash bail was in place
