Biden Nominates Pelosi Staffer To Head SEC While Pelosi's Son Is Under Investigation By The SEC

The SEC is built to administer wrist slaps for even the most heinous financial crimes. Republicans seem to have always liked it that way.

Ah......so this is just an example of GOP corruption.....not Biden Administration corruption.

Gotcha.
Nothing specifically corrupt has even happened yet unless you count the general inability to prosecute white collar crime in this country. It's damned sure not something the left is responsible for. In 2008 there would have been a Wall Street investment banker hanging from every light post in the financial district if we had any say in the matter.

Yah, that sounds like a real winner. I wish he would quit doing stupid sh#t. Sure I wanted trump out, and it was the right thing to do, but he does not have to pay back the independents that put him over the top with stupid sh#t. Hell, the last guy did stupid shit, just to piss people off. I was tired of that sonovabitch in 9 months flat, cause I got it, he wasn't gonna change, he wasn't going to grow into the gravity of the job and (if ccourse) he was just a stupid low down piece of sh#t. I'll tell ya, I'm getting pretty fed up with this sonovabitch too, and his dumb ass grown son, Hunter.

Well....considering the fact that DOJ and the FBI has been run by Democrats for the last 20 years....that's not a surprise.

I'm sure if you're a Trump supporter they'll kick down your door for spitting on the sidewalks.
But nobody has been held accountable for spying on the president and leaking his classified communications to the media.

He is nominating a long-time Securities and Exchange Commission staffer to a higher position.

Does that really sound all that corrupt?

Gator, I confess, I didn't read the article. I took it as the OP stated in the heading that it was one of Pelosi's congressional staffers. I didn't equate it as corrupt, as I do not think Joe is corrupt. I simply thought appointing somebody from Pelosi's congressional staff a stupid move.
Is there something on this guy, (whoever it is), you think I should read before going off half cocked?

Sometimes it seems like you actually believe your own bullshit. When it comes down to brass tacks there is not a republican anywhere that really supports exposing the rich to the same standards of criminal justice the rest of us must contend with. The SEC exists only to make it seem like we have a legal counter to bankers rigging the system. No one is likely to change that. For them to take action financial crooks have to steal a lot of money from other rich people.

The point should be that putting a Pelosi stooge in charge is a serious problem if Pelosi's kid is under investigation by the SEC.

But please continue......

Seems like you never had a problem with the SEC being effectively toothless until this moment. Were it run by people who would actually prosecute fraud you would swear it's a socialist plot. As to your specific allegation you are presupposing corruption before it even happens.

Ok Gator, I am back. Still not impressed with the selection of Jaime Lizarraga. He sounds like a token Latino to me. Working mostly as a staffer to Pelosi and maybe Boehner. He is neither a lawyer or a forensic accountant, has a Bachelor of Arts in Political science and a masters in public policy. HIS only connection to the SEC, I can find is from sometime in 1998 to 1999.

I found no real management experience, or hands-on financial experience, stock market, or investment experience. I am not sure I would even take investment advice from this guy and he is being nominate to a key position in the Securities and Exchange Commission, overseeing public and corporate investment, based mostly on analysis of the quarterly reports and the management and discussion analysis written/signed by the corporate presidents, with the goal being to protect the public from shady dealings.
I can't see it. Truthfully, I have had a 1st Lieutenant and even a SP4 that worked for me with better management and forensic accountancy skills, degrees in the field, training and experience in the pertinent fields.
Still not siding with the OP, on corrupt appointee, as I have more faith in Joe, though less in Nancy, but this is a purely political appointment to a commission that is actually supposed to safeguard the public by reading between the lines of financial filings, in order to protect the public. Furthermore it is easy to see why Nancy would be tickled, but I am not.
I still say DUMB MOVE BY JOE.

Thanks. I had misread the article in the OP, the other person was the long time SEC staffer. So, I do agree with your take on it

Pure corruption in your face and you dismiss it….Never again will any of your bs on corruption be taken seriously…

If the stupid right wing allegations on this board ever start panning out I'll pay more attention to them.

I did notice the qualifications of the other guy, the Republican guy. He could, would and will pass the Senate. Unfortunately for us, in this partisan time, it would not surprise me if this guy passes muster too. I don't really think the securities themselves want to be regulated in any way, and what better way to avoid it, then have somebody lacking the skills, experience and at the regulatory board. It is not like the people they regulate have ever caused the country any harm, in their quests for greater profits. Right?
