Ok Gator, I am back. Still not impressed with the selection of Jaime Lizarraga. He sounds like a token Latino to me. Working mostly as a staffer to Pelosi and maybe Boehner. He is neither a lawyer or a forensic accountant, has a Bachelor of Arts in Political science and a masters in public policy. HIS only connection to the SEC, I can find is from sometime in 1998 to 1999.

I found no real management experience, or hands-on financial experience, stock market, or investment experience. I am not sure I would even take investment advice from this guy and he is being nominate to a key position in the Securities and Exchange Commission, overseeing public and corporate investment, based mostly on analysis of the quarterly reports and the management and discussion analysis written/signed by the corporate presidents, with the goal being to protect the public from shady dealings.
I can't see it. Truthfully, I have had a 1st Lieutenant and even a SP4 that worked for me with better management and forensic accountancy skills, degrees in the field, training and experience in the pertinent fields.
Still not siding with the OP, on corrupt appointee, as I have more faith in Joe, though less in Nancy, but this is a purely political appointment to a commission that is actually supposed to safeguard the public by reading between the lines of financial filings, in order to protect the public. Furthermore it is easy to see why Nancy would be tickled, but I am not.
I still say DUMB MOVE BY JOE.
