Biden Ignores His Afghanistan Disaster When Claiming Middle East Is More 'Stable' / 'Secure'

This statement of yours is peak low even for someone like yourself.

Abraham Accords. Ring a bell, ding-dong?
Yep and that really has produced little. Trump made the agreement with the taliban. Biden gig not. Biden was forced to go by a date set by trump.

Thats an interesting take seeing as how we didnt withdraw from Afghanistan by the agreed upon date. So it would seem Biden wasnt forced to abide by that date since neither he or Trump in fact did.

Trump made the agreement.
Biden failed miserably in the execution of the withdrawal, getting 13 Americans needlessly killed, left allies scrambling to get their people out, promised not to leave until everyone had been gotten out then allowed the Taliban to drive him out, breaking his promise and abandoning / leaving people behind....

...all of which Democrats and snowflakes call a 'success' ... as long as they can blame someone else for their f*-up.

The agreement to leave was made by trump. I know you guys want to ignore everything trump did like republicans did with their last great white hope Reagan but:

What Trump’s Disgraceful Deal With the Taliban Has Wrought

Mr. Trump agreed to withdraw all coalition forces from Afghanistan in 14 months, end all military and contractor support to Afghan security forces and cease “intervening in its domestic affairs.” He forced the Afghan government to release 5,000 Taliban fighters and relax economic sanctions. He agreed that the Taliban could continue to commit violence against the government we were there to support, against innocent people and against those who’d assisted our efforts to keep Americans safe. All the Taliban had to do was say they would stop targeting U.S. or coalition forces, not permit Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations to use Afghan territory to threaten U.S. security and subsequently hold negotiations with the Afghan government.

Not only did the agreement have no inspection or enforcement mechanisms, but despite Mr. Trump’s claim that “If bad things happen, we’ll go back with a force like no one’s ever seen,” the administration made no attempt to enforce its terms. Trump’s own former national security adviser called it “a surrender agreement.”

Trump’s deal with the Taliban set the stage for the Afghan collapse

History will mark Aug. 15, 2021, as the date that the Afghan government collapsed and the Taliban retook control over this troubled and war-torn country. But the real date that the Taliban’s victory was assured is Feb. 29, 2020, the day the Trump administration signed what it characterized as a “peace” deal with the Taliban. Once this agreement was signed — the tragic collapse we witnessed this weekend was inevitable.

Of course, the agreement was not, and could not possibly have been, a “peace” deal since one of the parties currently at war — the Afghan government — was not a signatory. Rather, this was a “withdrawal” agreement between the U.S. and the Taliban that set the terms for the complete departure of American troops from Afghanistan by May 2021.

What did the United States gain in exchange for this withdrawal, for which the Taliban had been fighting for 20 years? Nothing but vague, unenforceable promises that the Taliban would not engage in hostilities against the departing U.S. troops and would “send a clear message” to al Qaeda that it “had no place” in Afghanistan. So eager Trump was to withdraw, we did not even hold out for a clear, firm commitment that the Taliban would not provide aid, safe harbor or weaponry to al Qaeda and like-minded groups. The agreement contained no enforcement mechanisms and included no penalties on the Taliban for failing to comply with its terms.

Once the agreement was signed, the fate of the Afghan government was signed, sealed and delivered — the Taliban had practically won the war. There was no way that the government could possibly survive.

The fact that the United States entered into negotiations and then an agreement with the Taliban, without even inviting the Afghan government to the table, undercut the power and legitimacy of the government. The citizenry, including those in the national armed services and police, could plainly see that its own government was being ignored, a helpless bystander in critical discussions about the country’s future. After we had cut the legs out from under this government and rendered it a paper tiger, it is no wonder that when those serving in the Afghan army and police were asked to fight, most said, “No, thanks.”

Oh yeah, the NYT. The same trusted "news" outlet that gave us the FAKE Russia, Russia , Russia BULLSHIT for THREE + YEARS!?!?!?!?!?????

Potato Biden made the FINAL decision to recklessly abandon Bagram and leave behind Americans, allies, and BILLIONS of $$$ worth of our military tech.

That was BIDEN'S actions, not Trump's! :eusa_hand:

Trump pulled 11,000 US troops and released 5000 prisoners by September 2020. It was a very one sided agreement. The US got nothing.

Ok. The execution of the final withdrawal happened under which guy though? I dont think the Biden admin was held to any plans the Trump admin would have made regarding it were they? We didnt adhere to the date set up by the previous admin why would we be held to execute the withdrawal set up by them? Like it not Biden owns that shit show of an operation. Trump might have fucked it up even more but that's irrelevant since he wasnt the CiC at the time. You dont get to make this big show of signing all these EO's reversing what the last guy did and saying he was a complete fuck tard in every way shape and form and then say well we just followed his plan for this operation when something goes south. Who's the bigger dumb ass? The guy who made the plan or the guy who knows the guy making the plan is a dumb ass and yet follows the dumb ass's plan?

LOL Im not ignoring it. Im also not ignoring who was in charge when the withdrawal happened. Was Trump somehow running the show behind the scenes in the summer of 2021? Why was the Biden admin beholden to any plans the Trump admin might have made concerning this operation but not held to literally anything else the Trump Admin did? Why this issue vs every other one?

I would ask the writer of this article exactly what he thinks we were ever going to get from Afghanistan assuming we were getting out anytime in the next 5-10 years. Was the Afghan Army suddenly going to get it's collective shit together? Were the problems inherent in the way Afghanistan was created going to go away? Was Pakistan going to suddenly not care that a stable India influenced Afghanistan would have surrounded them by enemies? Was the Taliban going to convert to some lesser bat shit crazy version of Islam? What was going to change? What concessions were we going to get from the Taliban? They weren't stupid they know the condition of the country and how the place works. They knew without the US the Afghan army was basically non-existent.

The US government has no authority to force American expats to go home. No jurisdiction. They had 20 months to leave and travel warnings from the US State Dept for a decade.
