The DoJ has filed their indictment of Luft in the courts and they’re prepared to stand by the facts stated. If the facts are fabricated, then there will be repercussions. The odds of that being the case is very low. The indictment shows numerous emails and communications between Luft, his Chinese benefactors and the people he was paying off on their behalf. It also has the articles they were writing to support the Chinese belt and road initiative at the direction of the Chinese.
