Should parents decide if their kids drink alcohol? A lot do. So should we just do away with the drinking age?
In my state, and many others, those under 21 years old can legally consume alcohol if they are at a home and with at least one of their parents or guardians. No need to do away with the drinking age (though it should be 18, but that is a different thread). Parents are allowed to be parents in this case. But yet you would tell them they cannot decide if their child can get on FB.
How about gambling on those gambling sites. Can kids do that?
Gambling is restricted by Fed law, though ironically you can do state sponsored gambling before you are allowed to do any other gambling. Just one more example of the stupidity and hypocrisy of so many of our laws.
How about go into a casino alone? Can kids do that?
That is not the same as what they can do in their own homes. Apples to oranges here.
The only reason I'm open to it is they are kids. Freedom is for adults. You know kids in school don't have the same rights as you and I right? Freedom of speech? Freedom to carry a gun? Right to protest. Freedom of the press. None of that exists in schools.
In schools they are not under the supervision of their parents.
