I recall 2003 when our so called "ally" Saudi Arabia opposed the Iraq invasion and shut the pumps down. The bed wetters said it was all Bush's fault and would not even acknowledge OPEC's reduction.

Nope. The US buys very little oil from OPEC. It's ridiculous to think we can snap our fingers and demand a production increase of 2 million bpd. If Biden can accomplish an agreement with Iran that will put another 1 million bpd on the market.
Saudi ARAMCO plans long term. It's not a boom and bust wildcatter business.
Of course they opposed the invasion of Iraq. Prince Bandar was called home because he failed to dissuade Bush. Everyone knew the invasion of Iraq would be an unmitigated disaster.

President Biden's admitted attempt to manipulate oil prices by releasing Strategic Oil Reserves is one of the reasons why Salman isn't that excited by drilling more either. The way he figures, two can play that game.
