Bible Banned From Utah School District

If you need someone to to describe what porn is you're a complete moron.
I wasn't attacking you, nor did I intend to - just simply asking for your personal definition of porn.
If you don't want to answer - that's your decision.

Pornography:
1. the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement
2. material (such as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement

I wasn't aware that reading the Bible or a schoolbook in regards to sexual-education - causes sexual excitement to you, maybe to puritans and sexually uptight persons it does.

When I went to school (Catholic Boy's school in the 60's/70's) I got a hard-on upon reaching the age of 14 -per automatism - so did all the others, even without our mini-skirt dressed 21 year old female probation/temporary teacher appearing in class or on the school premises (hell of a great looking chick).

(Actually we -boys) - were all craving to be in her ethics class. Maybe at home you proceeded with self-flagellation?

We were 46 boys in one class - with one guy being "susceptible" to us - you really belief that any of us 45 would have gotten sexually excited upon being told that there are gays around in this world or a photo showing two guys kissing each other? - they don't show butt-sex, or two guys sucking each other off, in school books. We would have propably all puked upon seeing that - including the "susceptible" one.

A parent frustrated by efforts to ban materials from schools convinced a suburban district that some Bible verses were too vulgar or violent for kids.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Good Book is being treated like a bad book in Utah after a parent frustrated by efforts to ban materials from schools convinced a suburban district that some Bible verses were too vulgar or violent for younger children.

The 72,000-student Davis School District north of Salt Lake City removed the Bible from its elementary and middle schools while keeping it in high schools after a committee reviewed the scripture in response to a parental complaint. The district has removed other titles, including Sherman Alexie’s “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” and John Green’s “Looking for Alaska,” following a 2022 state law requiring districts to include parents in decisions over what constitutes “sensitive material.”

A district spokesperson, Chris Williams, said it doesn’t differentiate between requests to review books. The reviews are handled by a committee of made up of teachers, parents and administrators in the predominantly conservative community where most people are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The committee published its decision in an online database of review requests and did not elaborate on its reasoning or which passages of the Bible it found overly violent or vulgar.

Bible Banned From Utah School District

It's about time! What goes around comes around. What do you think?
There are no banned books.

Why do you people think the only place to get books is from a public school?

Yes, there are banned books in certain venues.

To suggest for a book to be "banned" that it must be excluded from all of the public square is a fallacy of unsupportable excess.

AI: Incest in the Bible

Incest in the Bible refers to sexual relations between certain close kinship relationships which are prohibited by the Hebrew Bible ³. These prohibitions are found predominantly in Leviticus 18:7–18 and 20:11–21, but also in Deuteronomy ³. Some examples of incest in the Bible are Lot's daughters who conceived children by their father ¹², Judah who had intercourse with his daughter-in-law Tamar ¹, Amnon who raped his half-sister Tamar ¹, and Herod Antipas who married Herodias, his niece and his brother's wife ¹. The penalties for incest in the Bible were death, excommunication, or being cursed ¹.

Should children be reading about incest - in the Bible?
