When I was in basic/AIT in '76, I saw ZZ Top and Styx live.

From '75

I saw them in concert before they started to grow their beards.

Boring. They only filled about 3/4 of the place so the sound echoed all over the damn place.

Our place was packed, but I don't remember the music as much as I do the weed.

There was more of it at the Pink Floyd concerts.

I dropped out of school at the very beginning of the tenth year. I lived and worked on a farm until I joined the military just 2 days after my 17th birthday in 1956. During what would have been my senior year, my favorite song was The Marine Corps Hymn. However, this thread is about other music and I do remember times when the entire barracks went to sleep to the sound of Joni James:
