The de-classified documents reveal details of his life before he became head of the brutal terrorist organisation that has taken control of swathes of Iraq and Syria and sadistically murdered thousands including western hostages.
Al-Baghdadi was detained by US soldiers in 2004 during the invasion of Iraq and spent nearly a year in a military prison there, according to papers seen by Business Insider.
The terror chief's real name is Ibrahim Awad Ibrahim Al Badry and although his date of birth was redacted, he is understood to be 43 years old.
