Story by Rebecca Schneid Time Mag
Sen. Bernie Sanders, an Independent serving Vermont, made an unexpected appearance at the Coachella music festival in Indio, Calif., on Saturday evening. He offered a stark warning about President Donald Trump during a rousing on-stage speech.
Sanders’ surprise address included calls for the younger generation to “stand up” against the fossil fuel industry, insurance companies, and U.S. states that are looking to roll back abortion rights.
“[Trump] thinks that climate change is a hoax. He’s dangerously wrong,” Sanders warned. “And you and I are going to have to stand up to the fossil fuel industry and tell them to stop destroying this planet.”
“This country faces some very difficult challenges, and the future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation,” Sanders opened his speech saying, “Now you can turn away and ignore what goes on, but if you do that, you do so at your own peril. We need you to stand up and fight for justice, to fight for economic justice, social justice, and racial justice.”

Comment:
Why is Bernie Sanders going to Coachella?
Is he going to run for president again?
I watched a little bit of Coachella, and their music sucked.

I can tell you scrutinize people's every move for no apparent fundamental reason.

The 'Independent' who votes in lock step with Dems 99.9% of the time? I'm not sure he understands the word. As for his epic HYPOCRISY owning 3 freaking houses and lecturing everyone on how much wealth they can have I say F you Bernie you washed up old fool.
Anyone who is more well off than Bernie is oligarchy.

Bernie in LA on Saturday 12 April.
His net worth is around $3 million derived from book royalties, Senate salary, and pensions.
Donald Trump's net worth ranges from $4.1 billion to $7.08 billion depending on whether you prefer Forbes or Bloomberg.
Which one do you believe on matters of economic inequality and its consequences for democracy? :auiqs.jpg:

President Trump earned (and grew) his wealth in private business. Bernie has never worked. Grifting and stealing like all the demWitted loons.

Democrats are so unpopular that they have to make surprise appearances at rock concerts, otherwise nobody would show up.

He is 84 years old so seems doubtful he'll be running for the presidency in '28. Maybe he wants to sell another book on how he pretends to hate Capitalism. Ironically, Sanders has made lots of money from a Capitalistic system. He's worth about 3 million. Not bad on a salary that only pays him $174 thousand a year.

He's an old loon playing the system

Have you never heard of inheritance?

Have you never heard of inheritance?
Yeah, have you? What's your point? He's not a capitalistic entrepreneur? He is. He became that guy he pretended to publicly despise.

Bernie Sanders inherited a small amount, described as "a few thousand dollars," after his mother died when he was 18 and his father when he was 20. There are no reports of any substantial inheritance beyond this. His wife had inherited a vacation home.

Sanders made $2.5 million between 2011 and 2023 from book advances and royalties alone.
His net worth is 3 million.
