Bergdahl Backfire

Been hearing that the WH is a bit puzzled why no one is praising Obama for this.

They can't understand the concepts of duty or honor. Their confusion is based on a code too foreign for their liberal minds to understand.
Much like a pig looking at a clock.

We don't KNOW why he walked off, hater dupes. End of story.

Where the hell have you been the last couple of days?

Do you not have access to newspapers?
Do you not know how to get to CNN's website?
Do you not get news channels on your TV?

Then you didn't read them.

He walked off his post and left his gear.

I admit I only read the second one.
Did the Pentagon say that he was a deserter in the first one?

Yes.

You've got your mind made up though, so don't bother reading multiple sources confirming his intent to abandon his post even before he deployed.

What do you think I have my mind made up about?

Oh, by the way, you lie.
The article doesn't say that that the Pentagon has established that he's a deserter...imagine that...you lied to me!

There's some personal opinion that he is though.
Officially, Bowe remains a soldier in good standing in the United States Army. He has continued to receive promotions over the past three years, based on his time in uniform, and he now holds the rank of sergeant. Unofficially, however, his status within the military is sharply contested. According to officials familiar with the internal debate, there are those in both Congress and the Pentagon who view Bowe as a deserter, and perhaps even a traitor. As with everything in Washington these days, the sharp political discord has complicated efforts to secure his release.

You almost gotta laugh that the Hussein administration seems to intentionally create a scandal to push other scandals off the front page. Either that or they are beyond stupid.

Obama's a reverse King Midas. Instead of gold, everything he touches turns to shit.

That's why his closest adherents have brown on their proboscises. :eusa_whistle:

I have been ashamed of it since BHO took the oath of office.
That's just sad.
Thats the truth. I knew this guy was a shit bag when he was a senator.

Agreed. I am 70 years old, served in Vietnam and lived through the 60s and then Watergate and I have NEVER been ashamed of my country until this asshole took over.

I am deeply ashamed of this "president" and what he has done to our country.

This backfire has developed an exploding cigar gag quality. The sheer naiveté of these dolts is stunning.

Why Team Obama Was Blindsided by the Bergdahl Backlash
The president and Ms. Rice seem to think that the crime of desertion in wartime is kind of like skipping class.
--By Ralph Peters

I have never witnessed such outrage from our troops.

Exhibit A: Ms. Rice. In one of the most tone-deaf statements in White House history (we’re making a lot of history here), the national-security advisor, on a Sunday talk show, described Bergdahl as having served “with honor and distinction.” Those serving in uniform and those of us who served previously were already stirred up, but that jaw-dropper drove us into jihad mode.

But pity Ms. Rice. Like the president she serves, she’s a victim of her class. Nobody in the inner circle of Team Obama has served in uniform. It shows. That bit about serving with “honor and distinction” is the sort of perfunctory catch-phrase politicians briefly don as electoral armor.

...The president, too, appears stunned. He has so little understanding of (or interest in) the values and traditions of our troops that he and his advisers really believed that those in uniform would erupt into public joy at the news of BergdahlÂ’s release...

... This is a fundamental culture clash. Team Obama and its base cannot comprehend the values still cherished by those young Americans “so dumb” they joined the Army instead of going to prep school and then to Harvard. Values such as duty, honor, country, physical courage, and loyalty to your brothers and sisters in arms have no place in Obama World.

In the eyes of Obama and company, desertion = serving “with honor and distinction.” They are disgusting to no end by projecting their depraved values on the uniform of our country.

Obama and his crew THOUGHT they would receive accolades, and it would take the heat off of all the other scandals...man were they wrong. It just bolstered the resolve of millions to call him and this lawless bunch to task.

There's an irony when every action or word from Obama causes apoplectic outrage from the right - then those same foamy-mouthed lunatics accuse him of trying to deflect from whatever the previous outrage was.

Both, and they think WE are stupid. They are finding out quite different, aren't they?

Priceless

The media has carried their water for so long it was taken from granted they would only receive praise and opponents criticized. They made the mistake of believing their own press but the press knows it's a bit too big to sweep under the rug this time.

The main thrust of their stories do. Saw all 6 together and didn't see any disagreeing going on.
Oh.
Speculation on the interweb is equal to fact in your world?

Much like this I suppose.

Brown Student Misidentified as Boston Bomber Found Dead in River
Maybe it's time you turned on some cable news stations, you can see those that served with him personally tell the story.

They can tell their personal perspective on the story.
Their stories don't even agree.

Yes...

There may be some considerable merit in this observation...

Comes a time, when the feckless Mainstream Media will throw anybody under a bus...

Including failed Messiahs...

"failed Messiahs" - my God, the truth in those two words is overwhelming....
