A high school football player tackled a much smaller player, and then belly flopped on top of him. 15-year-old Colton Mims suffered two broken vertebrae and had to be rushed to the hospital. Comments on social media called for the 15-year-old belly flopper to face serious consequences. The school in Kalamazoo, Michigan said the student athlete who flopped onto Mims made a "poor choice" and that "the behavior was addressed."

His poor choice was addressed? WTH, he almost crippled the kid and did it intentionally.

Why would they not file assault charges?

What is wrong with government run schools?

I'm just say'in, that is why the state run schools won't do much at all to the kid, if anything.
That is bullshit. It should make no difference if he's black.

Correct.

State run schools are BS.

If I were the parent, I would sue the kid and I would sue anyone who called me a racist for defamation. And I would consult with a lawyer about suing the school if they did not take appropriate action.

This is what needs to start happening.

It looked like a cheap shot and a penalty but it but I doubt its a crime... however you have to own your actions. You do something cheap like that and it becomes the 1 out of 1,000 chances it does real damage and you own it. Kid should be kicked off the team and not allowed to play ever. Criminally negligent? I doubt it holds up.

That was not football, it was an attack by that Black kid.
If I were the victim's parents, I would indeed be filing assault charges on that boy.
Five will get you ten that was a racial attack. Certainly it was deliberate as the video shows...

Remove the uniforms and have him drop all his weight on a defenseless person lying on the ground and you have an assault

I bet there is a better chance of a civil suit than a legal one. I've never lost a case in court so you can take that opinion to the bank(legal disclaimer Im not a lawyer and never been in court and this opinion is pulled out of my ass, exclusions apply).
