Belichick not a 1st ballot HOFer

Had to look it up but his Tampa playoff run:
  • Brady: 3 road wins
  • Beat Brees → Rodgers → Mahomes
  • Super Bowl passer rating: 125.8

Not bad.
Not bad for 44 years old

I’m a Giant fan
We didn’t win two championships without Belichicks legendary defense.

If you look at most great coaches they build a great team and ride them to championships till the team burns itself out.
Belichick kept his team at a championship level for 20 years. Constantly retooling and winning without many HOF players outside of Brady.

Brady made for a great Patriots offense but Belichick built a team
Steelers here. I like seeing both Bill and Tom lose as often as I can. I've been able to see Bill lose. I havent been able to watch Tom lose though, sadly.

Bledsoe got hurt.
People forget what Brady was at that time.
He did not come in and light the place up. Belichick developed a game plan that won in spite of Brady. They won because of the Defense and Adam Vineteri. Brady was a game manager……don’t screw up kid

Early in Brady’s career, consensus was that Peyton Manning was a vastly superior QB to Brady.

But in the playoffs, Belichick would figure out a scheme to neutralize Manning. Brady would beat him not by putting up big numbers but by playing a solid game and allowing the Defense to limit Manning

Go ahead, how is this relevant to the issue being discussed?
You're pointing out the exception as if it were the rule. The exception proves the rule exists. No one is denying that Brady was a really good QB, but he was a 6th round pick, minus the injury to the starter he's not getting on the field, doesn't win those early SB's, it's not as if Brady was the reason the Pats won those first 3 SB's that team wins them with Bledsoe easily. Without that early success Brady is just a career back up or out of the league. The same with Purdy. If he doesn't to go SF with a coach who runs an exceedingly QB friendly offense, AND 2 players on the depth chart ahead of him do not get hurt (1 was their 1st rd draft pick and the other took them to a SB) Purdy is out of the league right now. In most cases very successful people owe a decent amount of that success to just dumb luck. That doesn't mean they didn't work hard to put themselves in a position to take advantage of that lucky break or that they didn't hit a home run when life hung a curveball over the plate for them, they did. That said there are also a ton of people who worked just as hard, were just as talented who never got that pitch or just didn't see it when it happened.

I don’t see what the argument is

Brady is the GOAT QB
Belichick is the GOAT Coach

Nobody else is even close

Both are no brainer first ballot

But the press had nothing to do with his suspension nor his unwillingness to apologize. He knowingly broke the one rule everyone knew you couldn’t break.

DID tne league and press kidnap Bonds hold him down and inject massive amounts of steroids and HGH into his system against his will for years and I just missed it? He cheated. It doesn’t matter why or who else knew. HE is responsible for his actions.
For several years people were mesmerized by long home runs and the all-star game home run contest. Steroids were done before that we know. Yet that was the transition with also all the strikes that ended the honor of fans aging and talking who were the greatest players in the sport's history. Each team now rents most of their players at incredible prices. James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams spewing all of the good platitudes of the sport is just a memory.

That should have no bearing, but the media is petty. If Belichick can’t get in then nobody should get in.
Vince Lombardi was not a first ballot hall of famer despite being the greatest coach in NFL history. Lombardi didn't cheat in order to win.

I would counter with Joe M. Mahomes or even Staubach. They had escapability and could and would run.

All three were more athletic than Brady and had better highlight reels
So was Peyton and Elway

But Brady is the unquestioned GOAT
Just look at the numbers he put up after 40. Nobody is close
The guy was in half the Superbowls during his career
