Bathroom war in congress

Political BS. If it was an issue it could have been discussed privately and not made a fundraising opportunity.

He's the one who made it an issue.

While in NC, he went into a women's restroom, in violation of the law, and posted a selfie...

So he's a legislator with no respect for the law.

He's been pushing gay in people's faces for years...

"As student body president, McBride worked to progress the LGBT agenda on campus. She worked within student government to establish gender-neutral housing for first-year students, and helped create an LGBT and queer studies minor."

Some of us reasonable people don't appreciate unrelated men from being in women's intimate settings, as has been the tradition for literally centuries.

Truly the #1 issue for America.

McBride "presents" as female when using all those social media filters and when photographed by sympathetic press.

In most cases, it's just cross dressing.

This is one of those pictures that is obviously using some filter to make him look more feminine.
Yes. This is the giveaway. If they were confident of their supposed "womanhood," they would show us who they really are, not some digital version of an artist rendering.

It's all part of the fetish.

It's not much of a war, it seems like. Nor much of a controversy.

Congress decides the rules for the Capital building. Congress decided no males in the ladies room, and probably held their tongues not to say "duh!"

The distinguished gentleman from Delaware has agreed to follow the rules.

"I would like my approach of respecting everyone to contrast with the disrespect we are seeing right now."

Well, said, sir! If all LGBT would respect the rights of others when it comes to private spaces reserved for women, we would have far less controversy, and their fights for acceptance in the workplace for example, might garner more sympathy.

Tyranny isn't being told to use the restroom or locker room of your actual sex.

Or be good enough at passing so people don't realize.
Ahhhhh… “passing”

Hiding who you are

Wonderful

Democrat transsexuals walking the halls of Congress. Then they wonder why we ridicule them so much.

In the end it will be the women who decide this. We are in a foggy area of some years on something that is on the forefront of issues. I always thought that the ladies' restrooms were a sanctuary to them. If a guy accidently walked into one, they would get scowls from them. At some point if this continues all the sexes will use the public restrooms with no sex preference without question.

If this is the hill that the left wants to die on, let ‘em.

Why hide it?

The more you defend it, the less credibility you earn, and you will continue to loss elections.

Also everyone could just use the bathroom that corresponds to their biological sex. Bathrooms are divided by sex not gender for a reason. You can't on one hand say that gender is a social construct and different from sex and at the same time say that you have to use the bathroom of the opposite sex because you identify as a different gender.
I both agree and disagree with you. When referring to a person's attributes, gender and sex were known to be synonymous 5 seconds ago. Many people preferred to use the word gender rather than sex because the word sex can also be used to mean the act.

Are you saying that a typical "trans woman" wants everyone to know that they are a biological male?

If so, they succeed.

But I thought that one of the arguments for giving "gender affirming" hormones to children is to make it easier for them as biological males to pass for females by avoiding going through male puberty.

Is this another throwaway sentence that you didn't think through?
