Banning People for NOT Swearing???

I used to do the Nationals a lot. Took the wife. She really liked John Force. She wanted a pic of him launching. We get right there as close as you can get, she gets him full frame on the line, I told her when he launches, click. I forgot to tell her to pivot to the left as he launches. Ended up an empty picture.
I can't imagine being that close to a top fueler.

You see the kid with his dad getting gears? He said his bum was tingling.

Top fuel your nutz do that. There's a few videos of newbies in the stands for a top fuel meet. It's funny.

Maybe my hubby doesn't need that. I asked him, it's a 455 SD. Absolutely no idea what that means but he's proud of it along with his friends

455 cubic inches. About equal to a 6 liter engine. The only engine Pontiac had bigger than the 400. Super Duty. Pretty good stock engine. Back to the topic.

Atleast from my perspective......there was alot more freedom back in the Cereal Killer days....... not so much in the last couple of years:dunno:

Somehow when Leftists show up, freedom and individuality always seem to fly out the window.

And soon after that, things turn to shit and die.

That may be true, but there were plenty of leftists here then too......though maybe not as many. They do tend to multiply like rabbits, and they're all a bunch of whiners

All the big donators here now are leftists, even though they contribute little to nothing here. Oh well. 113 posts and two days later, still no reply from the staff to simple questions on the forum meant for getting answers about an arcane rule that bears explanation. I'll wait a bit more, but it would seem that the staff are all in hiding because they cannot answer my simple, legit questions and don't want to because they want to reserve the ambiguity so these new rules can be unfairly applied as they see fit: coming down hard on one person for a slight misspelling while overlooking the gross abuse by others.

I'm not sure I entirely buy that, TK. I mean, maybe they tell you that, but I wonder if it doesn't come from even higher up, from group owners, the server owner or Cloudflare?

I read recently your comment of news "trickling down" to you mods and I found that a bit disappointing. As a moderator, I would have hoped that such stuff was held with ALL staff members in attendance, if not to give FB, to at least sit in, in real time. I mean, we are not running some big corporation here.

I just wonder how it will be handled to OTOH, "ban all profanity" while the programmed filter only takes SOME profane words out? Does that make the unblocked profane words OK? Does saying a bad word get you in trouble even if it is blocked out with asterisks? I just don't get the part about banning people (including perma-bans?) just for using familiar colloquial idioms like folks have used all their lives to "soft cuss" like saying stuff like "no fricking way." Did I just commit a bannable offense? I really need to know because that is my natural way of speaking. The stated rule is way too vague on the matter.

I come here for casual dialog, not post-graduate math and theory, to relax, so I like to use a lot of contractions like saying I kinda like this, or you are gonna never know---- familiar language, which includes saying stuff now listed as being bannable, even though it is not even a swear word, a "polite" swear word, meant for camaraderie, not to "get around or defeat a filter."

I really don't think whoever dreamed up this latest debacle totally thought it through, which I find a disappointing lack of consideration for its members considering the site asks me to financially support it.
I'll have to admit, I'm curious what prompted this sudden change.

no reason to ban a person for NOT swearing as long as it's not against the TOS rules

yes censoring certain words is no different than when I text my friends and swear
and google doe it for me if I speak it but not if I type it out

It does not bother me all that much actually
